VANDEWIELE is an international and high-tech machine manufacturer, active in the têxtile industry.

Our head office is located in Kortrijk. Here, about a hundred engineers work daily on the conceptualisation and development of innovative machines. We also have a state-of-the-art production environment, where the entire production process from A to Z is realised in-house.

To further strengthen our R&D team, we are currently looking for a mechanical designer.

Your role:

You are responsible for the mechanical design of machine modules, from concept to final product.

You develop completely new concepts in close consultation with internal departments, including the R&D team, purchasing, production and assembly.
You conduct research into highly dynamic, heavily loaded parts and make scientifically substantiated choices. To this end, you consult with external parties (international research centres, suppliers, etc.).
You design both the total module and the individual components down to the last detail, taking into account the interaction with surrounding modules of the machine. For this, you will be supported by the 3D drawing package Creo and Windchill. You will also have access to our extensive test room and testing area.

Your profile:

You hold a degree in electromechanics or are equivalent through experience. We are open to both school leavers and people with experience.
You have a specific interest in mechanical engineering and are willing to perfect your skills in this field.
You are critical and have good problemsolving skills.
You have a creative and innovative spirit.
You succeed in working in a precise and structured way with an eye for detail.
Experience in designing with 3D drawing systems (Creo) and/or Windchill is a plus, but not essential.
You work analytically with a view to reliability, costconsciousness and standardisation.
You communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
