    Job description For our Belgian Operation, we are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team and help manage and improve our organization's procurement needs across all our businesses.

    This specialist will actively participate in Purchasing activities and will directly support the Sub-Regional Procurement Director, with the goal of achieving significant total cost of ownership reductions, while maintaining & improving product quality and vendor service levels.

    The specialist will be responsible for performing data analytics, data cleansing & spend analytics to support the procurement reporting, monitoring vendors' performance & compliance within guidelines and directly resolving operational issues with vendors.

    Additionally, the specialist will drive and share best practices and will ensure compliance from all stakeholders in Belgium regarding the Procurement Policy and the Source-to-Pay process.

    Operational Purchasing

    Take all necessary actions to solve problems in the strategic procurement area related to claim handling, prices, contracts etc.

    supporting the Sub-Regional Procurement Director and the category directors.
    Vendor Management
    Interact with suppliers, for Belgium in scope, for the supply of (parts of) the assortment to be ordered
    Ensure the necessary supplier reports are available for the operational stakeholders (eg. data from energy suppliers)
    Consolidate suppliers (across sites within Belgium) where possible especially in operational categories such as MRO and Packaging
    Request documentation, quotations, and samples if necessary and inform about delivery options. Implement supplier contracts and agreements, and monitor compliance.
    Assess and select potentially interesting offers and provides proposals to the Sub-Regional Procurement Director
    Directly negotiate certain categories in alignment with the Procurement Director
    Data Management
    Perform data analytics, data cleansing and spend analytics to support the reporting
    Submit for approval (new) supplier data to data steward department.
    Use the ERP functionalities to monitor progress in cost to serve, reduction / planning effectiveness
    Report on KPIs and introduce new routines to automate & improve processes.
    Provide governance training for (new) end users
    Provide user support and 1st line support for functional and system problems
    Report and document incidents
    Support and deliver data for procurement efficiency and compliance projects
    Continuous Improvement
    Follow up market trends, competition strategy and innovations ensuring the best value for Sibelco
    Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements
    Compliance
    Ensure compliance from all stakeholders in the region regarding the Procurement Policy and the Source to Pay process.
    ~ Ensure the Procurement Policy, MICS, Guidelines are implemented in Belgium scope and give training to all relevant stakeholders when needed

    Profile To be successful in this position you should possess:
    Bachelor degree in Supply Chain or Procurement or equivalent by experience
    At least 3 years prior experience in Supply Chain, Procurement or category roles
    End-to-end supply chain experience
    Proven experience in developing supplier bases
    Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies
    Practical understanding of industrial mineral industry or experience working in manufacturing and/or production business is preferred
    Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and teams
    Quick adaptor to new technology tools and processes
    Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
    Good knowledge about MS Office and other ERP systems (Working knowledge of SAP is an advantage)
    Self starter, ability to work independently as well as part of a globally dispersed team
    Take proactive approach to problem-solving
    Ability to be able to travel within Belgium to visit suppliers
    Full fluency in both in English & Dutch is required
