JOB TITLE:
Project Manager Industrial Engineering.


PROJECT:
The company is preparing to build multiple battery materials production plants across the globe.
These cutting-edge facilities will be a critical part of the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain.

In support of these greenfield expansions, the company is looking for a Project Manager with experience in managing industrial engineering projects to support the team in Brussels.


In this role, you will be responsible for managing and leading the team responsible for the technical design and construction of the new facility and to liaise with EPCm companies, equipment manufacturers and contractors to successfully implement new assets and facilities until commissioning and/or handover, in line with the expectations of the stakeholders.


PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage the scope portfolio, outlining the design boundaries based on project needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business cases for expansion projects and translate them into actionable project scopes.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Translate business strategies into product portfolio considerations and articulate how they align with the overall project objectives.
  • Demonstrate expertise in rapidly setting project boundaries, covering various engineering aspects (e.g., power requirements, building specifications, infrastructure needs).
  • Lead and manage crossfunctional teams to execute engineering projects effectively, ensuring they are delivered on time, in scope, within budget, and in alignment of the process and technological development.
  • Effectively articulate and communicate project boundaries to stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding of project parameters.
  • Support the procurement phase of specific components and works, screening from bids to good reception confirmation in support of project management.
  • Work with other Engineering teams, integrating the work with other specialties into the final project solution, assuring user deadlines are met and without unexpected delays in production.
  • Perform or support commissioning of the equipment before handing over to the Process team, support process team during the internal qualification.
  • Supervise the construction, installation and commissioning of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including, operations, process technology and HSE teams, as well as external partners, to ensure project success.
  • Allocate and manage project resources effectively (internal and external vendors, contractors), ensuring that team members have the support and tools necessary to accomplish project goals.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful completion of projects. Maintain a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards, ensuring that all projects adhere to relevant regulations.

SECONDARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor project budgets and take necessary actions to control costs and optimize resources.
  • Create regular progress reports, project documentation, and presentations to inform stakeholders and management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department to enhance efficiency and productivity.

PROFILE:

  • 510 years of experience in the execution, managing and understanding of industrial engineering projects in operational environments.
  • Experience in managing teams both employees and contractors.
  • Technical experience and/or background in the execution of engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of design software (e.g. AutoCAD) and MS Office package, including MS Project (0365 or Office 2019) or Primavera P6, proficiency in Planisware Version 7 is a big advantage.
  • Knowledge of EHS standards, industry good practices and legal requirements applicable to engineering projects.
  • Highly skilled in organization, planning and project management.
  • Very good interpersonal and clear oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and problemsolving skills.
  • Independent thinking, outcome focused, stress resilience.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with mínimal supervision while supporting and coaching team members and colleagues to form a collaborative team environment.
  • Establishes good relationships with the leadership team and staff.
  • Innovative spirit, which searches for continuous improvements.
  • Intercultural awareness, understanding of different business practices in the relevant cultures.
  • Experience working in an internationally operating company.
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering; preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation/Automation.
  • Desired Project or Portfolio Management certification (PMI or PRINCE2).
  • Language proficiencies: English (fluent); Any other language is a plus.
