ABOUT THE ROLE
The Research Analyst's role is to build, develop and strengthen CEMR-PLATFORMA fact-based knowledge and expertise in decentralised development cooperation.

More specifically, the role involves conducting research on decentralised cooperation among European cities and municipalities, by means of desk reviews, interviews, and surveys to map cooperation patterns.

While the role is centred on research, it also entails assessing funding opportunities for future research on decentralised development cooperation, and drafting project reports for submission to funders.


The Research Analyst reports to the Projects & Programmes Director and works closely with the PLATFORMA programme, the Bridges of Trust Initiative, and the Communication team members.


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct research through desk reviews, interviews, and surveys to map the decentralised cooperation activities undertaken by European local and regional governments;
  • Examine the data and craft country profiles highlighting the impacts of decentralised cooperation framework conditions, potentially covering countries like Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Ireland, or other target countries;
  • Survey EU delegations globally, gather and analyse data for the 2021 PLATFORMA publication "The Work of EU Delegations with Local and Regional Governments for Development", update the publication and showcase the results;
  • Analyse and present various related findings to a diverse audience of CEMR partners, stakeholders, and funders;
  • Proactively exchange information within CEMR and PLATFORMA teams and networks, as well as with other pertinent stakeholders;
  • Assess funding possibilities and formulate future research projects on decentralised development cooperation and twinning;
  • Draft project reports and submit to the funder.
