We are searching for a passionate specialist fluid-dynamics and thermal to strengthen our team in its R&D mission.


Job description
Our engineering departments focus on bringing innovative, high-quality products to the market. Product development includes the full process starting from a conceptual design up to a final product in serial production. In this process, extensive use is made of both prototype testing and numerical simulations.


You will be part of the CAE team, the core competence team of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique focused on thermal, flow and structural simulations.

On the one hand, the CAE team is responsible for developing the competence domain in line with the state of the art.

On the other hand, we are involved in the development process of new products.

From our specific expertise, we advise on important design choices, and are involved in the product validation both experimentally as numerically.


Responsibilities

You are responsible for following tasks:

  • You are responsible for developing the domain of fluid-dynamics and thermal analyses in Atlas Copco. You remain up to date with the last developments in these fields. You identify opportunities to improve and/or expand our calculation models and tools. And together with your colleagues you introduce these improvements in our processes worldwide.
  • In all projects a customer focused approach is crucial. You communicate clearly on results, timing and cost with different stakeholders in the organization worldwide. In your day-to-day contact with colleagues you promote the use of CAE technology.
  • You can analyze the client's question and asses if he needs a simple hand calculation or a more complex CFDsimulation. It is your task to select the most efficient and accurate solution strategy to tackle the job.

Knowledge
Technical insight and a strong interest in product development are essential. You have experience with fluid dynamics and CFD simulations. You have some affinity for programming as this will be required when developing new models.

It is expected that you quickly familiarize yourself with new products, manufacturing techniques and simulation methods through an extensive internal and external training program.

Experience with flow and/or thermal measurements is a plus.


You have an excellent command of the English language, as it will be the primary way by which you will share your knowledge and findings.


Educational requirements
You have a Master of Engineering Science or Master of Science or are equivalent by experience. Having acquired a Ph.
D. in this domain is an advantage.

You are passionate about technical challenges. Further, you can translate your expertise into information, guidelines and practical tools for your colleagues. You communicate fluently and adopt a proactive, open and positive style. You are able to plan your work and meet deadlines.

You have the ability to work harmoniously in an international team and you like to take your responsibility within a team.
