Mission


Luminus is one of the key players in the Belgian energy sector working towards decarbonation and a CO2 free Belgian society.

Within this scope, we are looking for a team-player to lead, coordinate and deliver Luminus Innovation program. You report to the Director of Innovation and Business development.

You will set-up, manage and oversee the innovation team defining, implementing and delivering Luminus Innovation program working closely with the rest of the organization.

Luminus Innovation program consists of
two pillars; inspiring & delivering.

Inspiring involves organizing inspirational events, orchestrating the innovation program and exchanging with key internal stakeholders such as other Business Units and sister companies of the EDF Group and external stakeholders such as investors, public entities, startups, partner-companies to identify future areas of innovation.


Delivery consists of coaching and managing internal and external innovation projects, new ventures and partnerships for investment approval and launch. Accompanying these projects during their initial phases from assessment to proof of concept to final implementation and setup of a new business.


Assignments
You oversee, defining, managing and implementing Luminus two Innovation pillars: Inspiration & Delivery.


Inspiration:


  • In charge of defining Luminus innovation roadmap with concrete milestones and steps to engage employees across the Luminus group and deliver innovative programs / projects
  • Day to day project management of the innovation program
  • Being the ambassador of Luminus innovation both internally and externally. Being able to deliver inspirational presentations
  • Constant engagement with internal and external stakeholders

Delivery:


  • Being the leader of the innovation team, assigning the right priorities and setting the right framework to support the innovation activities across the company
  • Animating an innovation program with a clear aim to develop concrete innovative projects with a fasttomarket, failfast approach and business oriented
  • Recruiting and sourcing the right profiles to staff innovative projects and deliver on a concrete milestone to proof the feasibility of the ideas

Advise on, coordinate and support on the execution of the following activities which are part of the venture building Luminus innovation process:


  • Regulatory /Legal:
  • Identify regulatory constraints or hurdles and support mechanisms for a given topic
  • Identify key legal aspects and or laws that need to be taken into consideration and can impact the business or products development
  • Competitor & partner scan:
  • Identify major competitors & their strategy
  • Gather insights from success stories / failures in the market
  • Map potential partners and engage in first discussions to understand how these could become a part of the solution
  • Integrate potential inhouse knowledge from Luminus group or EDF group (of which Luminus is part of)
  • Operations:
  • Define the general requirements for establishing such a venture (budget, resources, IT systems, licenses, etc )
  • Define the first steps to validate the business model and to launch the Minimum Viable Product Proof of Concept
  • Define a roadmap for implementation with clear milestones and KPIs
  • Business & financial model:
  • Define a clear customer value proposition by using known tools (for e.g. Business Model Canvas)
  • Validate customer appetite trough organization of surveys, customer interviews, smoketest campaigns and other means
  • Assessment of potential market size, market projections, value pools
  • Implementation:
  • Accompany innovative ideas during their implementation roadmap
  • A Master degree preferably as a Commercial / Industrial or Civil Engineer
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a similar innovation role with proven track record
  • Knowhow of the energy sector is a plus
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English and fluent knowledge of French or Dutch
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build relationship with clients
  • Knowledge of business development, marketing
  • Excellent listening, problemsolving and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to conduct independent research and elaborate proposals for Clevel
  • Ability to prepare presentations and investor pitch
