About the role

Provides
_leadership to all in-country medical functions _and is the country senior medical voice both
_internally and externally_ (acting as Pfizer CMAO in the local country environment)


Main responsibilities- Directly leads all medical affairs functions, ensuring operational excellence for customer-facing medical, evidence generation, medical enablement functions, etc.- Partners with the Country Manager to ensure alignment with country strategies and represents all medical functions at Country Leadership Team.- Represents the immediate point of reference to the Medical-scientific representative of Pfizer to external stakeholders, such as KOL's, Industry Bodies, Regulatory Authorities, Government & Payers (in partnership with appropriate functional lines) as well as during Business Development discussions.

- Represents Pfizer through relationships with medical associations, societies, academic medical centers, and industry associations- In partnership with Global Medical Affairs, ensures Scientific Leadership and TA expertise by rigorous training and a local
- global medical alignment asset by asset
  • Flawlessly lead execution of 'glocal' strategies, ensuring appropriate X-Therapeutic areas resource allocation to execute medical plans
  • Leads medical quality and compliance teams with respect to inspections, corporate governance and related complaints
  • Chairs a Country Medical Leadership Team (CMC or other) with the purpose of aligning strategies, operational excellence, optimized resource allocation, maintaining compliance and information flow as well as to facilitate the resolution of issues that arise within any medical team or noncommercial enabling functions
  • Represents the [Country] medical and platform functions in the Country Management Forum (CMF)/CLT, and ensures direct representation in the CMF/CLT, when appropriate

About you

Education and Background- Medical Doctor with solid education and clinical/patient experience is strongly recommended- A significant industry experience or significant senior management experience in any health care industry- In-depth understanding of the country health environment including its structure, policy, key members and scientific societies, Pharma associations- Profound knowledge of relevant international Codes of Practice, guidelines and regulations as well as applicable Pfizer SOPs- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and the drug development process and how these aspects impact the product portfolio- Line management experience and general business management experience

Financial Acumen- Strong business acumen with financial and accounting knowledge in life sciences- Business decision-making at hospitals and pharmaceutical companies- Financial impact forecasting for various stakeholdergroups (patients, etc.)

Other qualifications- Local language and proficiency in business English- Successful experience in a complex organization- Excellent communication skills- Holds people accountable and builds effective teams- Strategic and innovative thinking; demonstrates business acumen- Leads change and acts decisively- Commits to "One Pfizer"- Anticipates customer and market needs- Ability and willingness to discuss innovation and pharma- This is a people manager role
