Our Business Unit is active within the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology,Cell & Gene Therapy, Medical Devices and Cosmetics industries. Our areas of focus include Biotechnologies, Vaccines and Drugs production and R&D or QC labs within the primary or secondary sectors


Our life sciences department has contributed to more than 300 industrial projects from different range of CAPEX investment from 100k€ till +250M€ and is now one of the largest providers of engineering and construction services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.

Position Summary


As Project Manager of IPS, you will have the responsibility for the planning and management in a wide range of projects, ranging from small improvements to large projects.

The management of your project can include multiple phases and/or specialization:


  • Project feasibility: process description, plant layout, overall Time Schedule, procurement Strategy, financial plan
  • Project preparation phase: investment analysis, basic engineering, permitting, financing and procurement.
  • Project realization phase: project management; detailed engineering, construction management, commissioning management, operational management.
Your role will be to team-up with the International Business Unit Manager and the Business Unit Manager for Germany.

Together we want IPS to become the leader in Life Science Engineering, executing our Projects in BIM, with the best available Project Management tools and executing the best available engineering technology.


The project manager supervises the daily operations and activities of the project such as project scheduling, resources allocations and project budget, technical alignment on a variety of equipment, facilities, utilities, components, products, and systems for a diverse client base of biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, cell & gene therapy manufacturers.


He/she maintains and oversees the complete project process; prepares status reports to top management and assures that files are on schedule to meet the target defined for the projects.

He/she establishes appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria.

The project manager also identifies and evaluates critical path activities needed by the project, analyzes contingencies and comes up with alternatives to overcome them, supervises and mentors team members, and ensures that the project team is working efficiently according to project objectives, goals, specifications, deliverables and timelines.


Requirements:


Qualifications

  • Master of Science in (Bio)Process Engineering or equivalent. MBA would be a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and / or Six Sigma Certification would be a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the Life Science industry and expertise in project management is required
  • Strong background and demonstrated success leading portfolio management, program/project management and strategic business initiatives.
  • Proven experience with international pharmaceutical projects

Knowledge And Skills

  • Excellent influential leadership skills and communication with the ability to facilitate relationships between business teams and external partners
  • Strong Program Management and Program Governance skills.
  • Prior experience establishing development standards and ability to use past experiences to identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Must have a good understanding when it comes to drug and/or Biotech development processes.
  • A strong motivation to let IPS become the leader in Life Science Engineering in Belgium
  • Fluency in French or Dutch and English is mandatory. Ability to speak another European language is an advantage
  • Excellent and resourceful relationship manager with strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Written message structure and clarity are key assets in a complex matrix environment.
  • Knowledge of US FDA and EU EMEA regulations and other important rules related to drugs at heart and be able to explain them to team members
  • Experience with training and mentoring junior staff members
  • Ability to work with diverse, multidisciplined and multicultural groups
