    Position

    In this function you are the expert on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) assessment techniques and process primarily for PVC polymers and their intermediates in order to support the sustainability and circularity strategy for our Vinyls business. You conduct LCA assessments and train others in LCA practices in order to offer customers options to reduce their own CO2 and energy footprint and related costs.

    Tasks:

  • You establish LCA methodology/tools and become the go-to-person for new LCA calculations for the Vinyls business;
  • You work closely with the Sales and Sales Application Support teams to continue to reinforce Vynova as a reliable, sustainable solutions supplier by offering LCA-based expertise and collaborating with customers;
  • You work with the Technology group, the sustainability team focused on CO2 and energy reduction and Operations to enable further improvements of Vynova product CO2 emissions/footprint and help customers achieve their own CO2 emissions targets;
  • You regularly report internal LCA improvements and implications to the commercial, sustainability, technology and operations team. You recommend and obtain support for upgrades and you lead improvement projects internally;
  • You collaborate on initiatives and projects with peer subject matter experts at customers and other external value chain stakeholders focused on optimizing the LCA and footprint of Vinyls end products;
  • You report to the Vice President Sustainability.
  • Profile

  • You have a Master's degree in Chemistry or Engineering;
  • You have at least 5 years of polymer chemical industry experience and similar experience with LCA methodologies/tool kits and principles;
  • You able to generate impact and know how to establish relationships and collaborations both in- and outside the organization;
  • You have strong analytical skills and able to train others in LCA practices;
  • You are customer oriented with good communication and problem solving skills;
  • A very good knowledge of English is necessary. Knowledge of French, German or Dutch is an additional advantage;
  • You will distribute your working time between home office and our offices in Belgium (preferably), France or The Netherlands;
  • You are willing to travel 10 to 20% within Europe.
