Job purpose:


As Clinical Assay Scientist - Clinical Ligand binding Assays, you contribute to the implementation of experimental design, data interpretation required for assay development, validation, assay automation and maintenance of clinical assays to detect and quantify biomarkers.


Your responsibilities:

Under the leadership of a senior scientist your responsibilities will include:

  • You contribute to the implementation of the experimental design in the lab and the interpretation of analytical data in collaboration with the designated statisticians.
  • You provide support for assay automation.
  • You provide scientific and technical support for:
  • Internal activities related to assay development and validation
  • Internal assay maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting in collaboration with the clinical readout laboratory.
  • Evaluation of new technologies (and ultimately support the integration of new technologies)
  • External laboratories for assay quality during development, validation, & testing phases.
  • You ensure assay history files are properly maintained and assay analytical plans, raw data and statistical reports are stored in sustainable systems and tools
  • You contribute to the improvement of assay quality and facilitate implementation of new technologies.
  • You provide technical support to projects and to the cost effectiveness of CLS.
  • You contribute to the development of expertise, the implementation of improvements in clinical laboratory processes, of stateoftheart or innovative solutions in assay technology within the operational platform while giving special attention to assay quality and testing performance.
  • You ensure all activities under your responsibility are performed in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) guidelines, relevant regulations, and internal policies.

Basic Qualifications:


  • We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:_
  • Master in sciences or equivalent acquired through professional experience (Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy orientation).
  • Experience in clinical laboratory environment (+3y), with deep knowledge of GCLP. Good Quality culture is key.
  • Solid experience in assay development.
  • Scientific expertise in Biology and technology including automation.
  • Good experience in statistics, data exploration and analysis.
  • Good knowledge of analytical techniques.
  • Interest in laboratory work and lab management is an important aspect of this role.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English as well as conversational are a MUST.
  • Being able to communicate in French or willing to learn are a plus.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in data interpretation, statistical approaches, etc.
  • Ability to influence and engage at different levels of the organization and to evolve in a matrix organization
  • Good stakeholder management and excellent communication skills are necessary to meet needed mindset and behavioral changes that will be required by the business.
  • Team spirit, autonomy, scientific rigor, analytical mindset & strong networking skills.
  • Good organization skills (daytoday operations and lab management).
  • Ability to drive change, flexible thinking and having an open mind to imbed change.
  • Previous experience in interactions with external partners
  • Continuous scientific curiosity.
