We are looking for a Principal Reimbursement Analyst to join our Health Economics, Policy, and Reimbursement (HEPR) team in Belgium.

The primary objective of this role is to gain, secure or extend reimbursement, funding, and patient access of Medtronic therapies.

The individual acts as

a business partner to the cross-functional teams and leaders within the Organizational Units (OUs) and key global and regional partners.

This role offers the opportunity to establish reimbursement of innovative new therapies.

This is a hybrid role, which requires 2 days at the office and 3 days of remote work.


A Day in the Life

To be successful, this role will develop a deep understanding of company products and therapies, health and payment policies and structures, and the types of evidence that are appropriate for supporting business priorities regionally and globally.

This role will manage a portfolio of HEPR programs to support the launch of our Medtronic products and therapies, building sustainable pathways to market access.

This position requires the ability to think quickly, creatively, and strategically to craft innovative reimbursement solutions in a rapidly changing business environment.

This role will work closely with the global and regional HEPR team, as well as external parties, in the execution of strategic programs.


The Principal Reimbursement Analyst:

  • Develops and implements reimbursement strategies and programs in collaboration with global and European colleagues and the supervising manager to obtain coverage, coding, and payment from payer/providers, including direct interactions with payers and other related entities to gain reimbursement/funding for Medtronic therapies,
  • Creates and executes comprehensive market access strategies under supervision of the direct manager through the integration of reimbursement, pricing, health technology assessment, evidencebased medicine review, and health economic modeling activities,
  • Represents the reimbursement functional perspective and provides guidance to product development teams, marketing, sales, regulatory, clinical, and business leaders,
  • Partners closely with incountry and business unit teams understand and develop localized health economic and reimbursement value stories for Medtronic therapies to drive reimbursement strategies,
  • Stays actively informed on global and regional reimbursement trends and payment policy changes to proactively identify opportunities & risks to market entry, and to inform and evolve reimbursement strategy,
  • Functions independently in a matrixed, complex organization with limited daily supervision to assess, recommend, and implement solutions in fastmoving situations of varying levels of ambiguity,
  • Partners with crossfunctional core teams and crossgeographic teams to understand HEPR strategies within the broader business context and to implement reimbursement programs that are integrated into the overall business strategy,
  • Partners with industry stakeholders and physician societies in the development and implementation of reimbursement strategies and to complete market access submissions,
  • Reviews and develops reimbursement strategies for existing and new therapy expansions and indications, providing reimbursement input to product development, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and other business leaders,
  • Provides marketspecific input to the OU Country Consultation process regarding local decisionmaker needs related to reimbursement and funding,
  • Collaborates with cross functional partners (e.g., Governmental Affairs, Public Affairs, Clinical, Pricing, etc.) to enable market access success (i.e. shaping clinical evidence generation strategies, integration of pricing and reimbursement),
  • Coordinates and actively participates in the adaptation of economic models and evidence to meet local requirements,
  • Provides price
- & reimbursement related advice to internal and external customers,

  • Submits local price & reimbursement dossiers,
  • Under supervision of the manager engages and collaborates with trade and scientific associations, HTA agencies, and other healthcare bodies to influence and shape the local healthcare policy, regulation, and reimbursement/funding environment.

Must Haves

  • University Degree in Science (Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology, etc) or Economics with a health economics qualification,
  • A minimum of 5 years health policy, reimbursement, health economics, health services or clinical trial experience, or payer/health system healthcare economics and reimbursement research experience in the medical device industry,
  • Fluent Dutch and English, both verbally and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Experience in formulating strategies, tactics, and action plans to achieve results,
  • Strong focus on developing an organizational mindset that fosters teamwork,
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
