Your role
We are looking for a Freelance Senior Accountant to start 25/03/2024 for an initial mission of 6 months.

The senior accountant is responsible for the correct and complete processing of the monthly and yearly closing conform Belgian GAAP, IFRS and corporate policy and for the timely delivery of the validated figures.

Some Key responsibilities are:
Responsible for the monthly closing of the balance sheet and P&L:

Calculate and process accruals based on information received from other departments or reporting sources and in accordance with Belgian GAAP, IFRS and business policies.
Look at the outcome in a critical way, taken into account (monthly) evolutions.
Check all the accounts for which he/she is responsible.

- look constantly for optimizing the closing process

Is in direct contact with the different business units for whom the accountant is in charge:

Knows the underlying process that steers the income/cost.
Takes up issues or outstanding actions during the month in a proactive way.
Adapts changes in the accounting process in accordance with the company's guidelines.

Responsible for the balance sheet and P&L reconciliation:

Correct validation of the assets and liabilities during a monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
Follow up and take actions on outstanding aged debts and receivables.
Reconciliation of the different systems that are linked to the accounting process

Responsible for treasury management:

Monthly cash forecast update
Weekly execution of payments to suppliers

Involvement in financial projects

Your profile

At least
5 years proven experience in
tax and statutory accounting (by preference in multinational environments)
Experience with multiple
IT systems:
IFRS Knowledge
Degree in accountancy (master or bachelor)
Ability to work independently.
Continuously looking for
efficiencies in way of working
Good
communication and persuasion skills
Handson mentality

Fluent speaking/writing in English and French or Dutch
Flexible in terms of
time management as well as assigned tasks.
