What You'll Do


You will be part of an innovative engineering team focusing on finding opportunities for creating new high-value capabilities for Cisco's Customer Experience portfolio of services, especially Business-Critical Services.

You will also find opportunities for automation and augmentation in the workflow of Cisco Consulting engineers.

Tasks include participating in ideation sessions, exploring the best way to implement a particular idea, and writing proof-of-concept software. The idea is tested and validated using lean methodologies such as 'lean startup'.

Successful concepts are developed further to the point where they can be transitioned to LA/GA, by working closely together with production teams.

The team demonstrates groundbreaking technologies including (but not only) sophisticated machine learning to achieve the above goals.

You enjoy staying on top of fast-moving trends in web development while simultaneously implementing innovative scalable back-end architectures.

You are an active learner on a journey to tackle problems for our customers. You have considerable skills in your toolbox and the ability to pick the right tool for the right job.


Crucial skills/characteristics:

  • Proven experience leading projects to success
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (English a must)
  • Technical excellence in Python and Javascript is required (add your GitHub profile if you have good examples)
  • Proficient in Linux
  • Proficient with a git source code version control systems like Gitlab & GitHub
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with AWS or GCP
  • Container technologies like docker
  • Experience with developing backend architectures with SQL or noSQL databases
  • You collaborate with other specialists and people in the organization to improve our solution delivery
  • You believe in Lean/Agile principles
  • You care about your craft and strive towards producing highquality code
  • A very high degree of autonomy, selflearning, and problemsolving is encouraged
  • You should enjoy working in a team and collaborating on projects and codebases
  • Writing automated tests
  • Experience with cloud technologies like Kubernetes
  • Understanding of 12factor apps design patterns
  • Experience with any other programming language is an asset
  • Experience in network
  • Experience with machinelearning systems including Tensorflow, Keras, etc
  • Eye for business, being able to measure the adoption and impact of a capability
