What you will be doing?


The purpose of the job is to develop the operational strategy of the COO (Chief Operating Officer) organization and managing the strategy into action through the transformation office in order to realize RISE 2030 objectives.


This contains the following elements:

  • Definition of COO operational strategy
  • Translation of COO strategy into Transform and Run dashboards
  • Monitoring of the deployment of the Transformation initiatives
  • Development and implementation of the required business adoption and communication activities and organisation


As part of the COO Management Team, the function holder will prepare and drive the progression management discussion of the transformation initiatives of the COO organization.


Main areas of responsibilities are:

Business strategy design and facilitation:

  • Define and steer the strategy process to develop the plans, do a first quality review before validation of COO management team
  • Design of workshops and events to further translate the strategy plan into concrete deployment plans for the plants and COEs
  • Setup and manage the strategy cascading process (downward and upward)

Business deployment:

  • Define the monthly Transformation Office COO dashboard and define the progression governance
  • Setup the

COO PMO:
managing go/no go for transversal COO or big programs, prioritizing projects in function of strategic importance and absorption capacity of the receiving organization

  • Evaluate the overall progression against timely delivery on quality and budget
  • Coach the COO-MT to prepare updates + recommendation for corrective actions

Business adoption:

  • Define the business adoption strategy and organization
  • Followup of the business adoption plans of the plants and Center Of Excellence's
  • Define and setup monitoring strategy
  • Give change management recommendations based on data analysis
  • Define communication plan of the progress within the COO organization and toward external stakeholders
  • Have a University Degree (preferably from a technical university) with a MBA
  • Have gained 10 to 15 years working experience, ideally in a multinational environment
  • Are interested in the field of rechargeable battery materials the ambition to continue your career in this field
  • Have gained experience working in multicultural teams and ideally also additional language skills apart from an excellent command of the English language
  • Possess strong communication skills (structured, transparent, and regular reporting) as well as presentation (ability to make high quality ppt slide decks) and facilitation skills
  • Have excellent digital affinity and understanding of the power of data and ability to use your knowledge in this area to optimize operational workflows in the COO organization
  • Have experience with program and project portfolio management tools (e.g. Planisware, etc )
  • Are Business Process minded ideally with some experience in manufacturing related business processes
  • Possess high degree of energy, creativity, and the ability to selfstart
  • Are well organized, stress resistant and able to manage tight deadlines
  • Are a team player and motivator within multinational and multidisciplinary teams and have strong interpersonal skills
  • You possess strong analytical skills, are fast and flexible, able to switch priorities
  • Are focused on results, committed and having a positive "can do" spirit
  • Are a team player, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, with handson mentality and servicemind set
