    MES Solution Architect

    Currently we are recruiting a MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) Solution Architect to further extend, modernize and implement our MES solution.
    Shopfloor control, our custom MES solution, has been implemented in most of our factories and is a foundational solution for our industry and smart manufacturing initiatives.

    This includes the following responsibilities:

  • Assume leadership over MES solution and define the architectural guardrails for this application. Own & establish a future proof and component-based solution architecture.
  • Understand our business model, the needs of the business and translate this into required MES features; challenge the business stakeholders to come to the right solution and focus on business outcome
  • Define together with MES product owner and domain architect the vision, strategy & roadmap.
  • Architectural design for new MES features to maximize business value, reach lowest total cost of ownership and smartly leverage solution components across plants and business units.
  • Guard the solution and position MES for the right business capabilities
  • Collaborate with technical architect and developers to build MES system
  • Collaborate with business analyst for the implementation and support our MES solution.
  • Stay up to date with latest MES trends, technology & innovations. Have a network of peers at other manufacturing companies.
  • Work closely with the other IT architects (EWM, SAP, IIoT, data & analytics ,), the Manufacturing & planning domain architect and OT architect (PLC, Historians, Scada,..) to ensure consistency of the architecture company-wide
  • The role of MES solution architect could be combined with the role of manufacturing business analyst. The MES solution architect will report to the manufacturing IT team manager with a dotted line to the domain architect.

    • Who are you?

  • Master's degree in business engineering, economics, logistics or IT;
  • Min 5 years of experience with the design and implementation of a MES system
  • Up to date with the latest MES trends and industry best practices (ISA-95)
  • Experience with agile development and iterative product delivery.
  • Affinity with .NET, Angular and Oracle.
  • Understanding of operational technology (OT) (PLC, OPC-UA, MQTT, Scada,) and IT and OT cyber security standards
  • Passionate about how MES systems can improve manufacturing excellence and helps the plant operations teams to realize their objectives
  • Experience within an industrial environment, including interactions with operational teams (operators, process engineers, production engineers) and ways of working at the shop floor level
  • Good communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to summarize, document, present and communicate to various levels of the organization, with both IT and business people.
  • Ability to influence different stakeholders towards standards and harmonization goals

  • Knowledge of English and Dutch. French is a plus
