Are you concerned by transport's climate impact and continued reliance on petroleum? Transport & Environment (T&E) is looking for a campaigner to organize and lead an European campaign on clean fuels.

The programme is part of a wider strategy to end transport's reliance on petroleum, phase-out the use of crop biofuels and reward cleaner energy sources in transport, like renewable electricity and renewable hydrogen.

Particularly at the beginning, the role would focus on fighting food based fuels, which are behind the destruction of natural habitats and contribute to food insecurity in vulnerable countries.

Going forward the role would entail a focus on other areas including oil and hydrogen.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

  • Conceptualise, organize and deliver creative campaign actions for impact, and tools for resourcing and mobilizing T&E's network.
  • Collaborate with team members working on biofuels, oil, renewable hydrogen and efuels to develop research ideas and investigations.
  • Coordinate the actions of partner NGOs in several European countries and occasionally some joint projects with international partners in Indonesia and Brazil.
  • Work with the T&E communications team to develop communications and social media engagement strategies.
  • Implementing project contracts, timelines and budgets, and reporting to funders.
  • Ensure adequate and effective liaison and coordination with external relevant actors researchers, experts, NGOs, etc.
  • Follow policy discussions on the EU longterm climate strategy and renewable energy in transport.
  • Work together with other T&E campaigns to enhance each other's messages.
  • A successful track record of at least 35 years' experience in energy, climate or environmental projects.
  • Proven experience building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally including remote staff.
  • Proven experience in project planning and implementation, managing resources for campaigning tools and actions.
  • Experience coordinating projects with several partners, especially in EU and international partnerships.
  • Excellent skills in social media engagement and communications strategies, development of creative assets and digital tools.
  • Expertise in the field of renewable fuels, especially biofuels, is an asset (but not a must).
  • Experience in investigative work is an asset (but not a must).
  • Having a background in EU policy is a plus, but not a must.
  • Fluency in English, other European languages is an asset.
