    Job Description

    Description:

    The Finance Controller within the P&C & Health Controlling department plays a pivotal role in supporting management and the P&C & Health Business Unit in decision-making processes and strategic planning. This role involves analyzing and forecasting financial results by collecting and processing quantitative and qualitative data. The Finance Controller critically evaluates and synthesizes information, presents insights, and formulates recommendations to ensure the organization's profitability objectives are met.



    Key Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial and strategic analysis tools, frameworks, and methodologies to support the formulation of the strategic plan for P&C and Health sectors.
    • Lead the dynamic strategic planning process, initiating necessary actions and providing recommendations to management to achieve established objectives. Communicate the strategic plan to the Group.
    • Assist in preparing business review meetings, collaborating with management and business line leaders to analyze technical/business topics impacting the P&L and defining action plans accordingly.
    • Monitor market trends and competitor activities in the P&C and healthcare sectors, conducting relevant analyses for Top Management.
    • Participate in project implementation to achieve technical profitability objectives, overhead control, and continuous improvement in service quality.
    • Conduct complex financial analyses of current and forecasted data, ensuring accuracy and relevance of results.
    • Oversee budget management and financial control processes, challenging internal and external financial data and issuing recommendations.
    • Monitor transformation projects within the P&C & Health scope, ensuring alignment with financial assumptions through regular updates of business cases and KPIs.


    Requirements

    We are searching for someone who already understands P&C products, who might come from a consulting or actuarial background and wants to pivot to a more financial strategy role within their specialist domain.
    • Master's degree in finance, management, economics, or a quantitative field (e.g., actuarial science, mathematics).
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Insurance and / OR Finance.
    • Knowledge of the insurance industry, particularly the P&C sector, is essential.
    • Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into non-technical language.
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing needs, and collaborate effectively.
    • Discretion and respect for confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
    • Proficiency in either French or Dutch, along with excellent English skills. Active knowledge of the second language is advantageous.
