Your team and your responsibilities:

Team/division description

As part of People & Site Services (P&I), the Strategic Workplace Planning (SWP) team is responsible for the Workplace & Office of the Future, Carbon Neutrality of our facilities and management of the pan-European Real Estate Portfolio.

This includes Toyota's European Head Office and Technical Centre in Brussels, Toyota Parts Centre Europe in Diest, the 13 Regional Depots (RDO's) and 6 Vehicle Logistic Hubs (VLG) in Europe.

Strategic Workplace Planning works closely together with the (Supply Chain) Workplace Experience teams that implement our concepts.

Your project

The Intern Workplace Design will conduct a project to re-define Toyota's
visual Corporate Identity for the Workplace and
re-design the lobby and atrium of our European Head Office.

This project is mainly focussed on a corporate office evironment, but also covers social facilities at warehouses and vehicles hubs in Europe:

  • Analyse the business, company culture and the workforce to uncover the underlying requirements for the workplace's visual identity
  • Benchmark What Does Good Look Like (WDGLL): companies that offer attractively and consistently designed workplaces where people want to work, promoting the company's core values and business strategy
  • Define the essential building blocks of Toyota's visual Corporate Identity for the Workplace (colour and material schemes, etc.)
  • By site typology (HO/TC, TPCE, Regional Depots, Vehicle Logistic Hubs both for owned and leased sites) and workplace zone (see below list), draft a set of
    visual design guidelines
  • Home Base: Quiet area for concentrated, focused working
  • Open Plan: Open workspace supporting communication and collaboration
  • Meeting Room: Conferencing, workshops, colab and training sessions
  • Breakout Areas: Informal working, break time and chat
  • Touchdown: A zone for spontaneous, flexible working
  • Refuge Area: A sanctuary for confidential conversations, meditation, decompression, reflection, mourning, etc.
  • Resource Room: Kitchenettes, sanitary facilities, equipment and stores
  • Interzone Corridors: Reactivate and focus body and mind
  • Exterior Areas: How to best utilise for any of the above
-
Re-imagine the entrance area and atrium of our European Head Office to a lively and welcoming marketplace that promotes Toyota's mobility solutions and corporate identity & values and encourages social interaction.

  • In all of the above, ensure these design elements contribute to a
diverse and inclusive workplace that welcomes and caters for the needs of all colleagues, regardless of their culture, age, gender, orientation, (dis)ability and neurodivergence
