The Safety Coordinator will assist the HSSE Manager with input to design, construction planning and construction, including handover and integration of activities with the site safety and HSSE teams that will work to ensure safety during operation.

The Safety Coordinator will prepare and organise the health and safety program during construction, provide functional support and guidance to the HSSE Manager, working closely with the Construction Managers.

The job holder will have to fulfil the tasks associated with those of a safety coordinator for both engineering and execution phases of the project as outlined in:
Belgian Welfare law of 4 August 199- Royal Decree of 25 January 2001 concerting Temporary or Mobile Construction Sites

A non-limitative list of job holder's key accountabilities:

Update the safety and health plan
Update the coordination file
Update the post intervention dossier
Organize collaboration and coordination of contractors at the construction site via coordination structure meetings
Execute walk arounds at the construction site to verify if works are executed according legislation and project expectations
Support Project, Construction and HSSE managersin resolving HSSE matters

Je profiel:

Degree qualified and chartered or equivalent in appropriate discipline (mechanical, electromechanical, chemical )

Safety Advisor Level 1 (Belgian legal certificate)
Safety Coordinator design and execution level A (Belgian Legal certificate)
More than 10 years' experience in HSSE roles in Major Construction Projects in Belgium
Sound knowledge of HSSE legislation in Belgium
Fluent Dutch and good English communication skills
Strong planning and organizing ability
