The opportunity:

This role will place you at the heart of a high-performing, dynamic, agile EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team, part of a global network of 3,000 experts in sustainability worldwide that is committed to helping clients build long-term value.

You will have many different responsibilities.

The job:

As a Circular Economy and Sustainable Packaging Expert, you will focus on the
development of our sustainable packaging offerings to clients in different sectors.

You will advise organizations on
sustainable regulatory requirements in the EU and beyond, such as Extended Producer Responsibility schemes, green labeling requirements, market and other restrictions linked to single-use plastics, and Plastics Tax.

In addition, you will also
rethink the packaging portfolios in organizations, taking into account alternatives and avoiding packaging, recycled content, design for recycling, etc.

You will also play a vital role in
developing and implementing circular impact strategies for our clients and will
support companies
in their EU Taxonomy assessments related to this topic.

From the development of the methodology to the concrete assessment of product footprints, you will actively participate in the development of
new opportunities for new engagements and responding to tenders.

This opportunity will enable you to work with leading organizations and interact with EY colleagues globally. Our CCaSS team in Belgium has specific expertise in ESG strategy, audit, and reporting; circular economy, packaging, and, decarbonization. There will also be ample opportunity
- to work across different areas within the wider team.

Skills and attributes for success:

Technical packaging expertise with a sustainability mindset;
Indepth expertise in circular economy strategies;
Detailoriented with a focus on accuracy and quality;
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent project management skills delivering on time and within budget;
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team, and be as efficient as possible in a fastpaced environment;
Great technical mentoring skills;
Ability to translate customers' needs into clear proposals;

Your background:

You have:

Min 8 years of experience in technical Packaging environments;
Full proficiency in MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint);
Working and effectively communicating with team members with different technical backgrounds;

Development of other team members by sharing knowledge, delegating work, and (in)formal coaching and counseling;

A Master's degree in a relevant discipline, for example, engineering, packaging, sustainable development, environmental science, etc.
Understanding of key sustainability issues and trends and how they link to business value;

Full working proficiency in English, Dutch, and/or French both in writing and speaking
;

Prior consulting or highimpact industry experience is definitely an asset.
