    Nestled on Rue Royale in Notre Dame aux Neiges, this Belle Époque jewel, sculpted by Henri van Dievoet, has stood as a proud witness to the epochs and events that shaped Brussels. Now, the fabled Grand Hotel Astoria will re-emerge as Corinthia Brussels later in 2024, a beacon of elegance and luxury in the heart of the Belgian capital.

    Following a meticulous restoration, Corinthia Brussels will marry the classical elegance of its storied past with sophisticated modern facilities including 126 rooms and suites, a gastronomic restaurant and brasserie, and 1000 square metres of wellness. Catering to discerning locals and luxury travellers, Corinthia Brussels will harmonise heritage with an avant-garde attitude.

    The 21st Century Corinthia Hotel Butler anticipates, organises and executes all the request of our hotel guests, as well as supporting the Front of House operations in times of demand.

    The position combines the traditional British Butler service as well the demands of today's busy traveler needs.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Keep abreast of newest trends and innovations in the hospitality industry.
    • Generally be alert for opportunities to improve the profitability of the department i.e. through controlling wastage and being responsible for the economy of all utilities and resources.
    • Promotes discreetly the services and facilities available to guests within the hotel and the Corinthia Hotel Group (e.g. ESPA and Food & Beverage Facilities)
    • Maintains effective communication within the department and ensure that the Front Office Manager is kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.
    • Reports any problems/complaints to the Front Office Manager.
    • Liaises with other departments to ensure good communication and support.
    • Is fully conversant with the Corinthia Employee Handbook.
    • Supports the hotel operations in times of demand.
    • Assists with all Butler related tasks and duties (drawing a bath, unpacking & packing suitcases, show around, room orientations, shoe shine, personal shopper, pre-paring and presenting food service)
    • Arranges record, deliver and charge all special requests for arriving guests.
    • Greets guest at curb side and escort them to their room/suite, talking them through any outlet which is new to them or of interest (ESPA-Spa, F&B Outlets).
    • Creates extra special moments for guest at every opportunity, including recognising and celebrating birthdays, anniversary etc
    • Inspects all suites prior to guest arrival ensuring their excellence, following the Corinthia Standards.
    • Gains comprehensive understanding of all menus, outlets, and communicate to the guests when asked.
    • Assists guest with luggage, transport arrangements and bid farewell.
    • Maintains a well-stocked butler pantry, replenish and order if needed.
    • Interacts with employees and guests beyond giving and receiving instructions, emphasis focusing on the relationship with supervisors, subordinates, co-workers and guests.
    • Leads by example in setting positive relations with all hotel departments, ensuring issues are managed efficiently and appropriately to maintain the smooth running of the operations at all times.
    • Ensures guest preferences and history is well maintained and recorded, daily checklists are completed and assist other team members if necessary and high quality approach when dealing with any guest.
    • Assists to produce results through encouraging high achievement within the team.
    • Adhere to health and safety regulations and participate in relevant training :
    • Fire, Health and Safety
    • Regulations, such as COHSS in the European Union, related to the control of substances hazardous to health.

    Talent Profile

    Experience:

    • Previous guest exposure in Tourism and Hospitality Industry desired.
    • Previous experience as a Butler/Room Service Waiter required.

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Fluent in English, French or Dutch (Additional language skills are a plus).
    • Food and Beverage skills required.

    Education:

    • Secondary school
    • Diploma for Hotel/Service related studies desired

    Requirements: This position requires physical fitness and the ability to handle various physical tasks, including lifting stationary, carrying guest luggage, and lifting boxes onto shelves. Candidates should be comfortable with the demands of the job, which may include removing and transporting items. Flexibility in working shifts is essential, and candidates must be adaptable to changing schedules.
