Werkomgeving

Je gaat aan de slag voor het Cyber Defence Laboratory van het KMS , een militaire universitaire onderwijsinstelling die verantwoordelijk is voor de academische, militaire en sportieve opleiding van toekomstige officieren, en de permanente educatie van officieren die actief zijn in de Defensie ).

We geven cursussen aan de KMS, cursussen in het kader van een interuniversitaire masteropleiding Cybersecurity, maar ook korte cursussen rond de volgende onderwerpen:

Netwerken en netwerkbeveiliging;

gedistribueerde informatiesystemen;

Informatiebeveiliging;

Forensisch onderzoek en reverse malware engineering;

Beheer van cyberbeveiliging.

In het wetenschappelijk onderzoek zijn we actief in:

APT-detectie (Advanced Persistent Threats);

Detectie van cyberaanvallen op basis van machine learning en AI;

Cybernetische trainingssystemen en Cyber Ranges;

Preventie van phishing.

Functieomschrijving

De Cyber Defence Researcher zal aan verschillende projecten werken. Zodra een project is afgerond, wordt een nieuw project gelanceerd.

Voor een eerste project, genaamd "AI for Cyber", zijn we van plan om de verschillende/nieuwe technieken van Artificiële Intelligentie (AI) te bestuderen en te vergelijken, en toe te passen in de bescherming van onze actieve apparatuur tegen cyberaanvallen. Mogelijke algoritmen zijn onder meer :

Deep machine Learning (DL);

Multi-heuristische aggregatie-operatoren;

Explainable AI (XAI);

Adversarial training voor Deep Machine Learning.

Mogelijke toepassingen zijn onder meer:

Detectie van APT's in het militaire netwerk;

Detectie van webshells op de server;

Detectie van gecompromitteerde mobiele en IoT-apparaten;

Detectie van digitale identiteitsdiefstal (detectie van anomalieën in SS7-berichten).

Jouw rol bestaat onder andere uit:

Bestuderen en analyseren van de nieuwste richtingen en algoritmen op het gebied van AI;

Implementeren van de bestudeerde AI-algoritmen voor gebruik in cyberbeveiligings-gerelateerde toepassingen;

AI-algoritmen toepassen op andere projecten van de Cyber Defense Research Unit (SS7-detectie van anomalieën van berichten, APT-detectie) of op andere gebruiksscenario's (webshell-detectie...);

Jouw werk en de behaalde resultaten verspreiden door middel van rapporten, publicaties en conferenties.

Profielomschrijving

Technische vaardigheden

Je behaalde een masterdiploma in informatica of cybersecurity of gelijkwaardig door ervaring

Opleiding of ervaring in Linux en klassieke ontwikkelomgeving (command lines, git, ssh etc.) is vereist;

Opleiding of ervaring in een programmeertaal (Java en/of Python) wordt sterk aanbevolen;

Opleiding of ervaring in cybersecurity is een pluspunt.

In staat om je te integreren in een multidisciplinaire onderzoekseenheid en je neemt initiatieven om het functioneren van dit team te verbeteren

Op een academisch wetenschappelijk manier onderzoek uitvoeren : bestaande literatuur bestuderen, beschikbare oplossingen analyseren en nieuwe ideeën voorstellen.

In staat om jouw werk en de resultaten op een duidelijke, beknopte en nauwkeurige manier te communiceren (schriftelijk en mondeling).

Proactief plannen en managen van persoonlijke ontwikkeling.

Je bent eerlijk, loyaal aan de instelling en respecteert de vertrouwelijkheid

Je bent bij voorkeur tweetalig (Frans, Nederlands) of je hebt voldoende kennis van het Nederlands om zonder problemen te kunnen deelnemen aan vergaderingen met andere specialisten en/of eindgebruikersvertegenwoordigers

Diepgaande kennis van technisch Engels is een must

De werknemer krijgt te maken met geclassificeerde informatie en zal dus de vereiste veiligheidsmachtiging moeten verkrijgen. Hij/zij moet instemmen met het antecedentenonderzoek dat nodig is om deze toestemming te verkrijgen, dat zal worden uitgevoerd door de Belgische Defensie.
