The team assists its clients throughout the various phases of a M&A transaction and intervenes as from the very early stages during which our client (can be a corporate or a private shareholder) contemplates about the strategic path forward, until the very last phase during which we assist in concluding and signing an agreement.


What will you do?


As a member of the M&A Deals Advisory team, you will be part of a team that advises executive clients in the Financial Sector (Insurance, banking, wealth management and insurance brokerage).

As a (Senior) Advisor of our M&A (Financial Services) team, you will be responsible for supporting business origination efforts, execute transactions and support our senior team members in further developing the M&A and corporate finance service offering of KPMG Belgium.

- Key responsibilities can be summarized as follows:

  • Assist with preparing value-added pitch content and supporting the strategic dialogue with our clients. You are expected to help build sector knowledge, map the M&A market for various sectors, assist in identifying key targets and gather the necessary market intelligence;
  • Prepare highquality valuation reports, perform indepth financial analyses as part of your daytoday responsibilities. You will need to demonstrate a strong financial analysis skills;
  • Regarding transaction execution, you are expected to support key workstreams including a.o. preparing highquality transaction documentation, due diligence coordination, financial modelling, business plan analysis and valuation showing the required expertise across the entire transaction lifecycle;
  • In a nutshell you will need to have a strong desire to learn to support origination efforts in M&A;
  • You will be required to actively contribute to the development of more junior members of our M&A team helping them to achieve high quality standards in transaction origination and execution.

    Skills & Qualifications:
  • Successfully obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering;
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant experience (insurance, banking, payments,..) within the audit department of a Big4 or within the corporate finance department of an international investment bank, M&A boutique or a Big4;
  • Strong presentation skills;
  • A solid understanding of the insurance and/or banking sector;
Enjoy working in a project based working environment and have strong project management skills;
- (An interest to improve on) financial modelling skills incl. technical knowledge with proven competencies in investigative analysis of the business and sectors, mastering valuation principles and techniques (knowledge of DCF, LBO, merger modelling, comparable companies, precedent transactions etc.);

  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to interpret data, generate insights and construct solutions;
  • Exposure to or familiarity with both Equity Capital Markets and Leveraged Finance transactions is considered an asset;
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining industry/company presentations and benchmarking materials and other process documents;
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills and able to perform consistently at a high level and at times under high pressure while adhering to strict deadlines;
  • Detail orientated with a strong work ethic;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch and French.
