Tax Manager within our
Group Tax Department


Your main duties as Tax Manager

  • Analyze the tax aspects of the activities of the Group's entities in Belgium, with a view to performance, mainly in terms of corporate tax, Belgian VAT, energy taxes but also other more specific taxes such as tax on securities accounts, property tax, taxes relating to employee shareholding or employee mobility;
  • Analyze the tax aspects of investments in Belgium (nuclear, thermal, renewable) both in terms of local and crossborder taxation and in terms of the consequences on the tax situation of the parent company and any intermediary companies;
  • Tax monitoring during contract negotiations and restructuring, acquisitions and divestments (M&A) including tax aspects of due diligence and tax clauses in contracts;
  • Assist the accounting, legal and business teams on tax issues;
  • Carry out tax monitoring and tax lobbying. Represent ENGIE within professional organizations in coordination with the other members of the tax team in Belgium;
  • Animate tax training in coordination with the other members of the tax team in Belgium;
  • Follow the tax audits in Belgium by ensuring the interface with the tax administration in coordination with the other members of the tax team in Belgium;
  • Draft defense memos in case of tax audits or in the context of litigation or ruling requests;
  • Identification of tax risks with the implementation and/or management of existing risk control procedures;
  • Discussion and coordination with external advisors;
  • Discussion and coordination with Global Business Units managers from the Group Tax Department, the legal department, financial and corporate project analysts, asset managers and other departments such as finance, accounting, management control, consolidation, audit, etc.
  • Make recommendations, monitoring and control regarding transfer pricing documentation procedures and policies;
  • Ensure the overall tax governance. Define, deploy, assist in implementation and enforce ENGIE Group Tax policy, rules, procedures, processes, standards and principles (in cooperation with those of corporate finance and treasury, consolidation, accounting norms, controlling and valuation of investments).

Your profile as Tax Manager

  • University degree in Business Administration or Law
  • Master's degree in Taxation
  • At least 5 years' experience in the Tax department of a company or an international law/consulting firm
  • Professional knowledge in Dutch, English and French
  • Team spirit and interpersonal skills
  • Openmindedness, curiosity
  • Sense of a job well done, rigorous
