At Janssen Geel a team of 700+ employees is responsible for the manufacturing of API's and IPI's for the commercial and clinical innovative product portfolio of Janssen.

Delivering these products safely, with high quality on time and competitive for patients worldwide.

The Senior Operations Manager West is accountable for the Plant 4 department supplying products and corresponding documentation in accordance with EHS 2, quality, compliance, and customer requirements.

The Senior Operations Manager will actively coach and support direct reports and extended team in day-to-day performance and talent development.

The plant operates in a 24/7 shift regime and the Senior Operations manager has accountability for a team of approximately 100.

Supported NTS is 10B$

The Senior Operations Manager reports into the Operations Director.

Job description

Lives the Credo and J&J values actively.
Accountable for daily activities of Plant 4. Responsible for the necessary preparation, execution, and followup of the production schedule of API's, intermediates, and cleaning
Is a champion for EHS 2 and quality and acts as a servant leader towards the team and supporting functions
Drives continuous improvement culture. Continuously challenges the status quo and leads the development and implementation of initiatives that improve overall organizational performance in a sustainable way.
Builds a culture of high engagement at all levels in your organization.
Drives cost competitiveness.
Ensures awareness of plant personnel in the areas of Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and general housekeeping and is responsible and accountable for the achieved SHE-Qresults.
Reports and follows up on eventual deviations/investigations and the implementation of the corresponding corrective and preventive actions
Drives people and operational organization development and plays key role in hiring and developing people.
Ensures that key performance indicators regarding SHE (Safety, Health & Environment)
Quality schedule and cost are met in alignment with JSC Geel and JSC Global strategy and objectives. Initiates action to prevent missed commitments. Examines production and operating reports and oversees actions taken to resolve safety, quality, and operational problems.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Technology or equivalent.
At least 810 years working experience, in the Chemical/Pharmaceutical industry.
Strong mindset for Health and Safety and Environment regulations and guidelines.
Strong quality mindset and compliance orientation.
Clear understanding of compliance requirements (cGMP and other specific legislation/guidelines applicable to the API, internal J&J requirements & guidelines)
Successful in Lean practices, such as Change Management, Continuous Improvement, JJPS,
Engaging people leader with previous experience in leading teams.
Excellent communicator, able to build a network and create winwin solutions both in internal, cross departmental and cross site contacts.
Able to operate within a matrix organization

Fluency in Dutch and in English (spoken and written).
