Mission:

Within his or her Business, and in close collaboration with the Group's Communication Department, the Communication Manager is responsible for:

  • Representing and promoting his or her business to various audiences (customers, specialized press, professional associations, forums, conferences, etc.); in so doing, contributing to John Cockerill's overall reputation.
  • Internally, to develop a sense of belonging and commitment among employees, in collaboration with the various members of the management committee of the Business
  • Maintain and animate internal and external communication media
  • Ensure operational marketing (fairs, exhibitions, promotional documentation, website, social networks)


He/she acts in full compliance with the Group's communication policies and in the frame of the existing communication infrastructure of the Group.


Key responsibilities:


He/She:

  • Designs and implements the annual communication plan of his Business, defines the priorities by audience, the objectives, the actions, the calendar, and coordinates its realization with the different stakeholders involved.
  • Advises and supports the communication of the CEO and the key people of the Business by defining with them the relevant wordings, which he shares with the Communication Department. On this basis, writes news, press releases, external and internal publications in accordance with the editorial, publication and distribution policies defined by the Communication Department.
  • Develops close contacts externally with associations, forums and partners, specialized press and internally with the Group's functional departments. Presents or represents its business during visits, interprofessional meetings, etc.
  • Ensures the permanent monitoring of the digital and media presence of its business, publishes the periodic press review and the analysis of the relevant KPIs. Measures the impact of the various communication actions undertaken.
  • Leads the internal communication within the business:
  • Deploys the Group's internal communication plan within his/her Business & develops additional actions/supports specific to its Business
  • Organizes the circulation of information within the Business (topdown and bottomup, particularly through quarterly meetings).
  • Ensures communication logistics and organizes federative internal events.
  • Supports change projects.
  • In connection with the sales management of his business:
  • Implements and maintains the documentation of the offer of his Business, all media included, in coherence with the global offer (brochures, photos, videos, lists of references, figures & key information).
  • Plans and organizes participation in specialized fairs.
  • Update the website and feeds on a regular basis the internal and external communication channels of its business, in collaboration with the Communication Department.
  • Contributes to the communication actions initiated by the Communication Department and provides it with specific contents from its business; provides it with information relevant to the updating of the communication strategy and to the evolution of the media mix (adaptations of the organization, acquisitions, major projects, etc.).
  • In close collaboration with the Group External Communication Manager and in compliance with the framework procedures defined by the Group, ensures relations with the press for its Business:
  • Point of contact for the specialized press
  • Drafting of Business press releases, ensuring consistency and the defined tone of voice.
  • Participates in the organization of press conferences
  • Identifies, trains and accompanies the identified spokespersons in accordance with the Group company policy.

Your Profile:


To succeed in this position, you will need to have an in-depth knowledge of consumer marketing and have the desire / curiosity to develop a deep understanding of the products and economic issues of John Cockerill Hydrogen's business.


  • A master's degree in communication, marketing, public relation or a related field.
  • A complementary education program in technical field or economics should be appreciated
  • In addition to formal education, relevant work experience, and a demonstrated track record of success in communication management in an industrial environment may be equally important (>10 years)
  • A deep understanding of the energy sector and its trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various external or internal audiences, at any levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to work with crossfunctional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,
  • Proficiency in digital communication and social media, experience with reputation building, content development and management, event planning and media relation.
