Service Engineer/Technician


Job Description:

The Service Engineer (SE) will be responsible for meeting the daily service maintenance and repair needs of construction equipment. Are you a mechanically minded problem-solver with a background in technical support.

Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers as well as performing necessary administrative duties as required and other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Stationary repair of our equipment in our workplace in Ath.
• Basic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on designated equipment.
• Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications.
• Ordering and managing service spare parts.
• Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner in Uptool.
• Maintaining daily communication with internal service management and sales representatives.
• Maintaining daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow up.
• Maintaining tools and test equipment ensuring relevant equipment is calibrated.
• Abiding with the company's Health & Safety Policy
• Utilizing the companies escalation process to resolve a customer's technical difficulties or service delivery issues together with your manager.
• Identifying and participating in sales opportunities as they arise in your daily customer contacts.
• Working with the whole after sales (internal and external) team to provide efficient service delivery to all customers.
• Open for training on service.
• The ability to lift and carry a tool box that can weight up to 25Kg.

Applicants must have:

• Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution based service process.
• Valid driving licence. (B and BE)
• Experience as a service engineer working with electrical and hydraulic equipment along with both petrol & diesel powered equipment but also battery powered equipment. Knowledge of high frequency electro motors and hightech mechanics is a plus.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical/electronical equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting and responding to customers concerns.
• Proven record of being reliable and accountable for all aspects of their job.
• Proficient level of computer skills including MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook).
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced, selfdirected, entrepreneurial environment.
• Resourceful, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Decision making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask activities with shifting priorities, able to work productively in a pressurized environment.

• You are able to communicate in 3 languages : French, Dutch and English
• Education: Secondary Technical; Specialization in Electronics, Electrics, Hydraulics, etc. is a plus.

De Service Engineer (SE) is verantwoordelijk voor het dagelijks onderhoud en de reparatie van bouwmachines. Ben jij een mechanisch ingestelde probleemoplosser met een achtergrond in technische ondersteuning.

Je onderhoudt goede zakelijke relaties met klanten en collega's en voert de nodige administratieve taken uit en andere taken die je worden toegewezen.

Verantwoordelijkheden:

De SE voert de belangrijkste taken uit die hieronder staan vermeld, de functie kan extra taken/verantwoordelijkheden vereisen die hieronder niet staan vermeld en specifieke functies zijn onderhevig aan verandering.

• Stationaire reparatie van onze apparatuur in onze werkplaats in Ath.
• Basis probleemoplossing, onderhoud en reparaties aan aangewezen apparatuur.
• Preventief onderhoud en veldmodificaties uitvoeren.
• Reserveonderdelen bestellen en beheren.
• Administratieve verantwoordelijkheden bijhouden, zoals het bijhouden van klantenservicelogboeken en interne servicegegevens op tijd in Uptool.
• Dagelijks communiceren met het interne servicemanagement en vertegenwoordigers.
• Je onderhoudt dagelijkse communicatie met klanten om ervoor te zorgen dat problemen worden opgelost en goed worden opgevolgd.
• Gereedschap en testapparatuur onderhouden en ervoor zorgen dat relevante apparatuur gekalibreerd i
