At Exothera in Jumet, we are currently looking for a Chief Technology Officer. This is an exciting position within our brand-new Nucleic Acid Business Unit. Here below all the details.

MISSION
The CTO is a key role in the new Nucleic Acid Business Unit. Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role.

The CTO is expected to be well-versed in current technological trends in mRNA technology (from R&D to commercialization), and familiar with service industry business concepts.

This role also requires excellent communicator skills and presentations in public.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Remain uptodate and knowledgeable regarding industry trends, regulatory requirements, emerging technologies in anticipation of new processes and system alterations, as well as to analyze and improve upon technology standards
Leverage industry knowledge and consumer understanding to improve existing activities and identify new service (and products) opportunities as part of the current service road map
Develop an innovation and intellectual property strategy and process flow to create new value
Works closely with sales account teams to establish business and technical approach to market offerings
Seek partnerships with new clients, strategic suppliers, and collaborators to increase the business possibilities and service roadmap
Provide technical support in the client discussions and project planning and execution
Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives
Boost company visibility with supporting material including for example white papers, scientific publications, other marketing material (webinars, lectures.)

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Master/PhD degree in Biotech or Medical Sciences field
Strong network in worldwide life sciences sector to call upon specific expertise when needed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to deliver key messages to internal and external audiences
Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
At least 5 years of experience as a CTO or similar leadership role. Prior experience in CRO/CMO/CDMO in the field of mRNA manufacturing is highly desirable.
Solid scientific background with an indepth understanding of mRNA production processes, including regulatory requirements and GMP operational constraints
Demonstrated ability to map scientific questions to an automation/technology solution
