The position as Business Planning Analyst demands an individual that enjoys challenges, is highly analytical and is comfortable around Management.

You will participate in executing the sales and budget cycle forecasting to ensure the collection, analysis and interpretation of market figures.

This information will support Management, Marketing & Sales, and Corporate Affairs departments to generate, evaluate, coordinate, communicate and monitor objectives, strategies and action plans.

As business planning analyst, you will be working in a dynamic and motivated team.

You will be responsible for the Belgian market and interact with representatives of the PM Benelux as well as the regional finance and planning groups in the Global Headquarters in PMI.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Interpretation and forecasting of market figures & dynamics for the Belgian tobacco market (cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products)
  • Monitoring and modelling of tobacco taxation developments.
  • Preparing adequate, timely reports (Budget and Pricing Scenarios, Competition report, Business review for PM Benelux Management team and for PMI OC and Regional offices)
  • Analysing and presenting volume, price, taxation and competitor trends to Management, Marketing & Sales and other relevant parties acting as an advisor and supporting decision making process
  • Providing adequate, timely reports to PMI (e.g. month end, budget, rolling forecast)
  • Coordinating the preparation of Sales Forecasts together with other department (Supply chain, Marketing, Commercial planning)
  • Supporting the preparation of business highlights
  • Providing adhoc analysis and participation to projects (e.g. wholesalers and retailers contract definition and financial implications calculation and monitoring, Corporate Affairs financial modelling support, competition monitoring, profitability initiatives analysis and assessment).

You:

  • You hold a master's degree and have a strong affinity with financial workflows and finance basic knowledge
  • You have strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • You are at ease when presenting and reporting to senior management.
  • You are keen on working both in a team and independently.
  • You are customer oriented and show a proactive attitude, seeing opportunities where others see barriers.
  • Unforeseen and ambiguous moments do not stress you. It brings out the best in you.
  • Passionate about improvement, you continuously focus on developing your skills.
  • You have a natural affinity for PC tools, especially with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You are fluent in English.
What will the selection process look like?

  • Assessment Tests
The tests are integrated in the selection process to increase objectivity of the final decision making. The assessment tests for this role is a cognitive ability test.

The results will not be saved in the employee's file, and will only be used in the context of the vacancy for which the employee is applying.

Results are therefore not used for purposes of performance evaluation.

  • Cognitive Ability Test: Report links under three headings:
  • Deductive reasoning (measuring the ability drawing logical conclusions)
  • Inductive reasoning (measuring conceptual and analytical thinking)
  • Numerical reasoning (measuring capacity to understand numerical data and interpret mathematical information correctly)
