What does this job entail?

:

As insurers, we need to
be able to fulfil our promises to our clients at any time. This is why it's important for us to excel at dealing with risk.

What is the best way to measure risks? How do we determine how much risk to take on? How do we test whether we can survive under pressure? What impact does climate change have on the risks for KBC Insurance? Finding an answer to these questions demands
teamwork

  • As our Insurance Risk Manager in the Group Risk team, you collaborate with colleagues from other departments and countries to
-
further improve our risk management for KBC Insurance. Expect an enthusiastic, diverse team

What do we expect from you?

:

  • You
identify the risks that KBC Insurance will be exposed to. Both current and future risks.
  • You quantify how much capital KBC Insurances needs now, in the future and in stress scenarios.
  • You collect the right information and analyse it creatively, detecting any signs of risk. You investigate them thoroughly
to give advice to business stakeholders. You present your insights clearly and ensure they're manageable, so that their impact is never overlooked.
  • You research
how our risk management can be improved. Examples might include experimenting with new tools and technologies.
  • You work very closely with colleagues from your own team from other departments, and even from other countries. They might be working in risk functions in KBC's core markets, be colleagues in the finance or treasury departments, or be from local insurance entities in our core markets.

Your key strengths?

:

-
Analysis is one of your biggest strengths. You're happy to dive into large amounts of information and identify connections. Plus, you love formulating insights.

  • You
enjoy learning more and sharing your new knowledge with colleagues. You take the initiative to do this.
  • You have no problems discussing risk topics with others, including the toplevel management at KBC and KBC's supervisors. You
communicate clearly and convincingly in English.
:

-
You work in a structured manner and have plenty of drive. As such, you meet deadlines and reach ambitious goals. For yourself and together with your colleagues.
-
You have a master's diploma in actuarial sciences, (applied) economics, mathematics, commercial engineering or civil engineering. Experience with insurances, finance, treasury or risk is a major added value for a smooth start in the job, but it's not a necessity. You can count on good guidance when you start.

What can we offer you?

:

-
Teamwork with an international dimension Working together with so many different colleagues makes every day different and interesting.

  • As the risks within Group Risk are so broad, there are
plenty of opportunities to deepen your skills. We involve you in important projects and discussions, allowing you to further develop your insights.
-
During your first year, we guide you based on your knowledge, experience and ambitions. Afterwards, we continue to invest in you with an exceptional range of training and development opportunities. You're encouraged to
keep growing as a person and a professional.

  • Our offices are easily accessible by public transport. You're also welcome to partly
    work from home.
-
Flexible work hours help you to balance your work and your private life.

  • We offer you a permanent contract and a competitive salary, supplemented by extralegal benefits. Sounds familiar? Of course. It's what you read in every job description. At KBC, we make a difference with our
extended flex package. It's too extensive to go into details here. However, we will happily discuss the various benefits—large and small—at your interview.
