We're currently looking for a
Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join our team


What will you be doing?
Do you want to set standards that will bring Cheqroom to the next level? Are you tech-savvy and working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is what moves you? As
Data Protection Officer, you will be:

• Responsible for Cheqroom data security and privacy framework, including setting and maintaining standards, policies, and procedures that meet the requirements under the data protection regulations
• Update and maintain the risk matrix and ensure Cheqroom follows risk mitigation processes to ensure SOC 2 and GDPR compliance.
• You lead the relationships with security and legal third parties and external stakeholders
• Provide legal advice on various data protection issues, including compliance with the GDPR and privacy laws, to all Cheqroom departments.
• Support Sales and Customer Success teams on commercial legal technicalities and contract negotiation, analyzing adhoc requests and deviations from standard agreements.
• Take responsibility and support the Head of Finance on Corporate matters such as insurance coverages, notarial needs, board meeting documentation, or monitoring Employee Stockoptions Plan.

Are you the one?

• You have an educational background in
  Law:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a
  similar role, with demonstrable work experience and a proven track record of dealing with data protection and privacy issues and at least 5 in corporate environment,
• Excellent knowledge of
  GDPR (
  SOC 2 is a plus),
• Strong
  change management skills to influence peers and management,
• Solid knowledge of
  security,
  compliance, and
  IT framework within a software development company (Finance, HR, and contract managementrelated experience is a plus),
• You are able to translate GDPR and other data protection requirements into business language,
• You are datadriven, detailoriented, businessminded, and intellectually curious.

You feel comfortable when
ideas are shared and challenged,:

• You have a
  Getitdone mindset and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done with mínimal supervision,

Think ahead is your middle name. You have good analytical skills, including the ability to assess future risks and impacts from a privacy and data protection perspective,

• You're fluent in
  English and Dutch, and your
  communication skills enable you to talk and present to internal and external stakeholders
