The EMEA Associate Medical Director Neurology is a medical and scientific expert on argenx's scientific data, products and trials, and will support and oversee execution of the EMEA Medical Affairs plans for Neurology indications, in very close collaboration with EMEA country medical affairs teams to ensure excellence in execution of medical affairs activities, and foster strong working relationships with cross-functional colleagues to shape and execute on strategies to improve patient outcomes.

Additionally the EMEA Associate Medical Director will provide strategic support to key projects and represent Medical Affairs internally and externally, and represent argenx's values as a science-driven, patient-centric organization developing innovative medicines for patients and always upholding the highest ethical standards.

This position will report to the EMEA medical director, Medical Affairs.


The position will have the following key responsibilities- Support the development, execution and tracking of the EMEA Medical Affairs plan and ensure full alignment of country medical plans and related activities- Partner and identify needs of the country medical teams to provide the required resources, trainings, and materials to enable excellent field execution, in line with agreed strategy, priorities, and messaging.

Report back to the EMEA medical and brand team as needed- Support field medical teams to facilitate their activities, including onboarding and continuous training programs, effective systems implementation and use- Support strategic and robust insight generation by country medical teams and facilitate analysis and internal communication of results- Support tracking and communication on execution of medical activities in the region and countries by developing and owning dashboards, KPIs/metrics and other relevant reports- Provide input and tracking of the EMEA and country medical affairs budgeting and planning process- Identify lessons learned and best practices in countries and share them with the EMEA team and other countries- Acts as a Project Manager for EMEA Medical Affairs to support execution of key activities in collaboration with enabling functions like ScieComm/MedEd in the region and countries to continually drive for improvement- Provide support for the development, review, and approval of presentation materials for scientific meetings, symposia, and other medical education activities- Provide appropriate and timely medical support to clinical operations, marketing, market access, etc.

in line with local standards and regulations and internal policies- Support EMEA PAA, PTA and PSP programs to ensure sufficient coordination and collaboration- Maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of all relevant Neurology diseases and products, including the competitive environment, and be a trusted and credible source of information, internally and externally- Builds valued and trusted relationships with the healthcare community through external engagement, projects and other collaboration opportunities.- Complete all work in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and argenx policies.


Skills and Competencies- Embraces innovation, cross-functional collaboration and shared goals- Experience partnering with country medical affairs teams and European/global functions- Able to effectively network and partner with internal and external stakeholders- Ability to understand complex disease areas and healthcare systems- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and when giving presentations- Proven track record of delivering results that meet or exceed targeted objectives- Fluency in English, both oral and written Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and when giving presentations- Detailed understanding of industry regulations and practices relating to Medical Affairs, and experience in Medical Affairs capabilities and processes- Is digitally savvy- Has a positive mindset and approach to the importance of meaningful quantitative and qualitative value and impact measures.

- Ability for travel as required

Education, Experience and Qualifications- Scientific, healthcare or medical degree (PhD, PharmD or MD).- Significant experience in a biopharmaceutical industry in medical affairs (5-7+ years)- Experience partnering with country medical affairs teams- Experience building out Medical Affairs capabilities to meet country requirements- Experience working in complex disease areas and across therapeutic areas/products- Experience working with European/global functions and leadership- Clinical experience in neurology, immunology, and/or rare diseases is an advantage- Proven knowledge of regional and country market access procedures and requirements is an advantage- Experience in building productive collaborations with medical experts and networks- Proven track record of delivering results that meet or exceed targeted objectives- Valid driver's license and ability
