Habitat for Humanity International is looking for a qualified individual to support coordination of Europe and the Middle East (EME) large and smaller-scale events, with a particular focus on Brussels-based events.

Confirmed events include Europe Housing Day (Nov. 2023, Brussels), Europe Housing Forum (Apr. 2024, Warsaw).


Introduction and background

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 46 million people build or improve the place they call home in over 70 countries around the world.

HFHI works through a broad network of national Habitat organizations and other strategic partners, such as corporations, financial service providers, individuals, non-governmental organizations, foundations, local governments, as well as the private sector actors.

HFHI supports program and project implementation by national HFH organizations and directly implements some projects and programs regionally.


Short description of the project

The Events Coordinator will be responsible for designing, planning, coordinating and executing Habitat for Humanity's large and smaller-scale events across Europe and the Middle East, including the flagship Europe Housing Forum.


Scope of work and deliverables

The Consultant is expected to:

  • Work in close collaboration with communications, programs and resource development in Europe, the Middle East and globally, to ensure successful delivery of online and inperson regional events.
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to determine objectives and requirements.
  • In cooperation with all relevant parties, develop and implement Habitat's event strategy for the region.
  • Design and execute large and smallerscale events across Europe and the Middle East, developing and implementing tasks related to agendasetting, logistics, speakerssupport, stakeholder management, vendor management, budget allocation and control, promotion and postevent evaluations.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors and agencies and manage all related requests.
  • Execute all the tasks on the day of the event to ensure a successful experience.

Competencies

Required:

  • Master's degree in management, marketing, communication, PR or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in managing large events.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Nativelevel of English.
  • Based in Brussels or within commuting distance.
