As Supply Chain Manager, you are the End to End Supply Chain Lead for Area Belgium including warehousing, transportation and demand-and supply planning.

Given this is a new position in our organization, you will help designing the job and you will play a major role in setting up the strategy for the department.


Functiebeschrijving:


  • In this new function you create a long term vision for Supply Chain within area Belgium and translate this strategic plan into concrete actions formulated in yearly action plans.
  • To execute this plans you will act as project manager or as project owner, where you take full responsibility of the delivery of the defined scope within the agreed timing and budget.
  • You actively lead and coach the Supply Chain team. You take responsibility over the achieved results, are constantly looking for ways to improve the service levels and to decrease costs.
  • You own the full logistics operational budget. You'll use the PDCA methodology in defining shortcomings and implementing cost improvements.
  • To increase the operational excellence, it will be necessary to analyse all supply chain data and assess the performance. Initially, this means determing KPI's to monitor the performance of our destribution centre in Lokeren and the warehouse performance of our production plants in Belgium.
  • We also have strong commitments to sustainability, where you take the lead regarding transport and warehousing.
  • Above all, you certainly don't forget safety You take ownership on the development and implementation of safety guidelines in all aspects of supply chain.
  • You secure our Business Continuity by providing a plan and being a backup for your direct reports, namely the Logistics Manager and the Supply Chain Services Manager.
  • In this role, you are member of the Operations Leadership team and you report to the Operations Director Belgium.

Profiel:

To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:

  • A Master's degree in Business economics or -engineering, preferably with a major in operational management or supply chain management
  • At least 10 years of operational Supply Chain experience (logistics, planning, distribution)
  • Experience in the food industry is a big advantage
  • As you'll manage a team of 30 people, a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience is required
  • Without a doubt you have a good knowledge of end to end supply chain management, warehouse management, transport management and experience with a major ERP suite (preferably SAP)
  • You'll collaborate with a lot of internal and external stakeholders, so we expect you to be a teamplayer and a good communicator in Dutch and English, on top a good working knowledge in French is also needed
  • You should also have experience in project management, in which you combine strong analytical skills with good conceptual insights and strong organisational skills
  • You are action
- and result-oriented with a constant focus on service to the customer

  • You're willing to work partially in our area headquarters in Lembeke and partially in our distribution centre in Lokeren
