Purpose

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is the face of Chiesi and is crucial for Chiesi's relationships with customers. He/she conveys Chiesi's medical scientific message to the customers and collects insights from the field. The MSL identifies opportunities and takes action on them.

By exchanging medical scientific (product) information, the MSL contributes to optimising the knowledge of the products of Chiesi as well as the indication areas.

We are looking for a MSL in West Flanders.

Main Responsibilities

Keeps his/her scientific knowledge up to date and makes sure he/she is familiar with relevant clinical trends and developments regarding different products and clinical pictures;
Has the primary responsibility for the dissemination of scientific knowledge among healthcare professionals, in particular KOLs and lung specialists, and engages in medical scientific discussions of Chiesi's products and the associated clinical pictures;
Cooperates cross-functionally on initiatives in the areas of strategy and customer excellence in which the medical perspective is integrated into interdepartmental projects (e.g. marketing, CX);
Disseminates knowledge within the organisations, including by training commercial colleagues (Sales, marketing) and answering medical questions;
Carries out pre-launch activities within Chiesi BeNeLux for new products and therapy areas;
Supports Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) that fit in with Chiesi's strategy and goals and takes care of their follow-up, if necessary;
Translates scientific information into practice, shares important data with physicians and discusses the analysis of such data;
Deals with external and internal queries relating to the products of Chiesi and the therapy areas (medical information);
Manages and monitors the quality of statements, activities, projects and events in a way that ensures that Chiesi always does justice to science and acts with moral purity;
Helps to build Chiesi's scientific image, based on mutual scientific respect;
Identifies, builds and maintains professional relationships with healthcare professionals and ensures that these relationships are continually optimised;
Advises/informs (potential) customers about Chiesi, its services, (new) products and developments;
Obtains insight into the changing needs of healthcare providers and anticipates such needs by collectively identifying and implementing potential solutions for specific obstacles that contribute to the goals of both the customers and Chiesi;
Identifies intra
- and transmural project opportunities and makes a success of them in cooperation with his/her colleagues in marketing and sales, among other departments; he/she brings Chiesi's medical scientific message to the customers and collects insights from the field;
Supervises the services that are provided to existing customers, monitors customer satisfaction and carries out activities/actions to improve it;
Is recognised by national and international KOLs as a valuable medical scientific discussion partner;
Participates in scientific congresses and symposiums and represents Chiesi there.
Experience Required

Excellent oral and written communicative skills in both Dutch and English;
Knowledge of and experience within the field of pharmaceutical care;
Knowledge of clinical developments;
Knowledge of the relevant local legislation and compliance rules
Experience within the pharmaceutical industry would be preferred, preferably in the area of medical affairs or clinical trials
Experience with the successful build-up and maintenance of a network;
Experience with project-based work and independent project management and coordination.
A network of lung specialists would be preferred
Education

Completed medical scientific education at university level and the accompanying working and thinking level, e.g. medicine, pharmacy or life s ciences;
A PhD would be preferred
