Zurich is one of the most specialized insurance companies within non-life insurance for local and international business in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg market.

We are now looking for an analytical and positive person to join our team as Junior Pricing Actuary.


As a Junior Pricing Actuary within Zurich, your main areas of responsibility will be extending the developing of MGA monitoring process, portfolio analysis on several topics: RI, cat exposure, etc., quantifying the impacts of underwriting actions, supporting market-facing underwriters on pricing matters, driving improvements in data quality.

You will also support the Pricing Team with portfolio profitability management and development of monitoring capabilities.

As a person, you are a team player and an analytical thinker. You are able to negotiate and have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. You enjoy working independently but with good abilities to co-operate with both customers and colleagues.


Your responsibilities:

As a Junior Actuary, you

  • Prepare and perform pricing analyses including trends, to drive portfolio and risk level profitability
  • Liaise with relevant functional stakeholders, to continuously monitor and provide insights into underwriting performance and implications for the business
Other accountabilities are to

  • Ensure that data, methodology and processes used in analyses are fit for purpose
  • Opine on the flow and quality of relevant data, working cross functionally to ensure required quality and granularity is available for analyses

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in actuarial science, mathematics/statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, natural sciences or any other numerate degree
  • 02 years of experience in general insurance
  • Pursuing/holding an actuarial qualification is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and Dutch or French. Knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of the actuarial pricing concepts
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and actuarial modelling
  • Strong programming skills, ideally R
  • Good communication skills and negotiation skills
