As Sample Handling Operator you are responsible for the processing & data entry of all samples received. You will also be responsible to store, retrieve, destruct and ship samples

Your tasks and responsibilities will be:

Receive, Scan and Data Entry:
You receive and inspect incoming samples/shipments, you scan samples into the system and you perform first data entry

Sample storage and Transfer:
You ensure that all samples ready for analysis are transferred to the laboratory immediately, ensure that all samples for storage are logged and stored into the appropriate freezers/storage area

You ensure that samples returned from the laboratory are stored appropriately.

You retrieve samples from the storage system in case of requests for retests or other purposes

Sample shipments:
You perform shipments to referral laboratories or other affiliates.

Perform a quality check on all outbound shipments

Reporting, filing and follow up:

Follow-up, notify the area Supervisor of any major problems with an inbound shipment or any other issue.

Support record keeping process,

You ensure optimal quality of all samples by following the applicable Standard Operation Procedures

You may provide support for the freezer temperature monitoring system

This includes:

checking alarms, destruct samples as required, and any other tasks that may arise to support the Sample Handling Department.

Your experience and qualifications

High School level
You have excellent administrative skills
You are detail oriented
You work well under pressure
You like to collaborate
You are flexible
Fluent in English
