Skills, knowledge, experience required:

Proficiency in:
All aspects of MS SharePoint administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
MS Windows PowerShell scripting for automating routine tasks and configurations in MS SharePoint;
Ability to:
Manage and optimize the MS SharePoint farm infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network components;
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for MS SharePoint farm configurations, processes, and procedures;
Knowledge of:
MS SharePoint security best practices, including user permissions, authentication, and data encryption;
Different versions of MS SharePoint, with a focus on the latest releases and updates;
Experience in:
Implementing and managing robust backup and recovery strategies for MS SharePoint environments;
Planning and executing MS SharePoint migrations, including content migration and version upgrades;
Capacity planning to ensure the MS SharePoint farm can scale to meet the organization's growing needs;
Previous involvement in collaborative projects, working closely with Developers, System Administrators, and end users;
Providing training and support to end users and IT staff on MS SharePoint best practices, features, and troubleshooting techniques;
Deploying web platforms on public cloud (AWS, MS Azure, etc.);
Handson experience in installing and configuring MS SharePoint farms, ensuring optimal performance and reliability;
Proven experience in identifying and resolving issues in MS SharePoint farms, ranging from server errors to user access problems;
Skills in monitoring and optimizing the performance of MS SharePoint farms to ensure optimal user experience;
Familiarity with:
Other collaboration tools and technologies that integrate with MS SharePoint, such as MS Teams and OneDrive;
Monitoring tools to track the health and performance of the MS SharePoint farm;
Understanding of:
MS SharePoint integration with other Microsoft products, such as MS Exchange, MS Active Directory, and MS SQL Server;
User experience principles;
Awareness of compliance and governance requirements related to data stored in MS SharePoint, including industryspecific regulations;
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly;
Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, provide training, and create user guides;
Strong organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills.

Duties/role:

Acting as Web Hosting Service Subject Matter Expert (SME), managing and implementing changes in all underlying technical services;
Installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, and maintaining large MS SharePoint web platform systems;
Liaising with the customer to identify required changes to the business functions of Web Hosting Services and then implementing changes within the agreed time scale;
Providing Level 3 support to PLT003 Web Hosting Service;
Undertaking fault finding as dictated by the sections trouble ticket system;
Undertaking activities lifecycle management of Web Platforms as directed by the PLT003 Service Delivery Manager;
Analysing, implementing, and updating processes so as to ensure NISC goals are met;
Performing daily work on the system to ensure platform stability and backend consistency.
