Function

In the role of (Junior) Buyer, you will be responsible for a group of product categories linked to supply, maintenance and extension of our IT systems in Belgium and Germany.

You will act as an intermediary between the internal customer and the suppliers and you will help boost the company's results by increasing the efficiency of procurement processes and optimizing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), bearing in mind the needs of internal customers.

You will report to the head of Group Procurement IT and insurance. You will be coached and supported by your Purchasing colleagues and manager.

In this role you will be responsible for:
Concrete purchasing activities including category strategies, market researches and tender activities including EU-wide tenders in close collaboration with the internal customers;
Advising the internal customers on purchasing topics;
Representation of the procurement department toward internal departments and their requesters in a constructive way and putting into practice a structured and innovative procurement strategy in line with the existing procurement policy;
Developing a relationship of trust with internal customers in Belgium and Germany by providing added value when determining procurement needs;
Conducting market studies, negotiating contracts and fostering positive, long-term relationships with key suppliers, using contract-management tools;
Contributing to setting up the procurement contracts in the ERP system.

Your Profile

You have a sound understanding of information technology and data communications. An experience with contract for SAAS and private and public cloud is a plus.

You are fluent in English and in Dutch or French. Knowledge of German is a plus.

You have the empathy and maturity needed to build a relationship of trust with customers, suppliers and team members.

You enjoy working independently and as team player.

You can communicate assertively and in a structured way.

You have a highly analytical mind, allowing you to achieve results quickly.

You have the required negotiating skills.

You have a good understanding of legal principles and are comfortable drafting and interpreting contractual clauses.

Confident appearance, willingness to deal with conflicts with suppliers and internal stakeholders as well as willingness to engage in discussions in internal alignments within Elia Group.

SAP experience is a plus.
