Farm Europe is a Brussels-based think tank that aims to stimulate thinking on the full range of policy areas that impact on rural economies, with a focus on food and agricultural policies.

Context and objectives of the work:
With the ongoing digital revolution, the significance to exploit and use our data is ever increasing. This equally applies to the field of agricultural data.

Our world of tomorrow will use the crucial information obtained from the raw agricultural data more and more, in order to have a better performing agriculture environmentally and economically.

In order to get to this point and be able to fully harness the potential of agricultural data, we need to enable exchanges and sharing within our current datasets and databases to thereby be able to create a Common European Agricultural Data Space.

Nonetheless, currently there is a gap and need for the tools, models, and policies for such an interoperability to take place between our agri-data infrastructures and platforms of today.

The aim will be to provide clear answers based on where we are now in the field of agricultural data sharing, what is missing, and what to do next in terms of governance models to enable future proof interoperability.
