BERNIER/ELIADES GALLERY was founded in 1977 in Athens and has since continued working dynamically in the field of contemporary art in Greece.

During the gallery's function, Jean Bernier and Marina Eliades have introduced to the Greek public numerous artistic currents, such as Arte Povera, Minimalism, Land and Conceptual Art and the younger generation of American and European artists.

Since 2016, Jean Bernier and Marina Eliades decided to open a new space in Brussels.

It is run by its director, Wauthier de Mahieu and is located in a historic building in the Châtelain district.

This Brussels gallery is the designated workplace for this job.

While they keep their curatorial core of historical established artists, they added a different programming vision with longer and specific projects.

This experimental space serves as a platform to present young and upcoming international artists to the public.

The gallery presents the works in Group shows or Solo show of artists of different nationalities and generations, in a plural and simultaneous programming.

Alternating personal exhibitions of emerging or established artists such as Jannis Kounellis, Thomas Schütte, Mario and Marisa Merz, Giovanni Anselmo, Gilbert & George, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Sue Williams, Cameron Jamie, Valérie Mannaerts, Christiane Löhr, Richard Long, Monique van Genderen, Tony Oursler, Nikos Navridis,...

The gallery has also participated for several years in major fairs such as Art Basel, Art Basel Miami, Art Basel Hong Kong, BRAFA and Art Brussels.

The Bernier/Eliades Brussels gallery is looking for a full-time intern assistant between March and July.

You will be actively solicited as part of the daily management of the gallery (internal and external communication, research in the artistic field, welcoming visitors, etc.).

You will also be required to participate in the organization of various artistic events (openings, international art fairs, etc.).

Intern's tasks:

• Visitors' reception.
• Communication and promotion of the gallery.
• Participation in the various events of the gallery (openings, fairs, etc.).
• Realization of artist files, exhibition catalogues and press releases.
• Cultural research in the international art world.
• Daily management of the gallery.
• Update of the press file.
• Assist in setting up exhibitions.

Skills required:

• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Canva tools.
• Knowledge of social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and other media.
• Knowledge of Mailchimp.
• Fluency in French and English and writing skills.
• Capacity for organization, autonomy, rigor and decisionmaking.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Interest in the world of contemporary art.
• Flexibility.

Working days on site :
Thursday to Saturday from 12:00 to 18:00.
