As part of Global Business Services, the Benelux team Corporate Communications and Government Relations engages with internal and external stakeholders.

This contains monitoring policy and legislative trends, developing and implementing appropriate plans, as well as internal and external communication regarding these themes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Communication and Government Relations guides the political dialogue between the BASF group and the political actors.

This contains monitoring the policy and legislative trends, taking a stance for the BASF group, as well as the internal and external communication regarding these themes.

As Senior Communications & Advocacy Specialist, you will be part of BASF's GB-team in Country Cluster Benelux for Belgium.

Your tasks will be the following:

You monitor and accompany legislative initiatives and policy trends on a national level within Belgium and Luxembourg e.g. in the field of Circular Economy, Plastics Strategy, Bio-Economy or Agricultural Solutions.
You rate these topics regarding their impact on BASF itself, but also on our Client sectors, identifying opportunities and risks.
You develop possible solutions and advocate for them and BASF's interests proactively with a diverse spectrum of external policymakers and stakeholders, including authorities, trade associations, trade unions and NGO's.
You initiate and maintain networks within and outside BASF with all relevant stakeholders.
Internally you work closely together with the Managing Director Benelux, the Advocacy Netherlands and the colleagues from our Brussels office.
Externally one of your engagement in networks entails participation in associations.
Furthermore, you are involved in crossthematic projects.
Besides your role in advocacy, you support the Benelux communication team in the internal and external communications for Belgium.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a university degree and already have professional experience in the field of internal and external project management, communications, consultancy or advocacy.
You have an understanding of Belgium institutions, and are eager to develop expertise in this area. Furthermore, you understand complex technical and political situations and have the skills to engage with stakeholders.
Therefore, you are curious, open, proactive and have communicative skills.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch and French and experience in social media constitute additional assets.
In addition, you are characterized by your ability to work in a team, as well as your distinctive work organization and intercultural orientation.
