  • About your role

This is how you will make the difference:

  • You will develop relevant, robust in vitro assays for the whole portfolio, across disease areas and manage a team of scientists in their daily work and planning for the timely delivery of quality assays and data. Next to this, you propose and develop disease-relevant in vitro models to investigate host-microbe interactions, and deliver high-quality assays for screening purposes, looking both into internal and external options. You will also work independently to define, develop and implement new in vitro and ex vivo assays to study mechanisms underlying the efficacy of microbial interventions in the treatment of a variety of disorders, analyse the ensuing data and present results. Finally, you will write or support project proposals, work across interdisciplinary teams and parallel projects in the design and development of microbial therapeutics, and present proposals, data and interpretation to project teams and managementwhat's needed

What you bring:

PhD in biological sciences or equivalent with 5 years post-doc or 3 years industrial experience;

  • Knowledgeable in disease mechanisms and pathways of inflammatory, metabolic, or neurodegenerative diseases;
  • Handson experience in developing complex cellbased in vitro or ex vivo assays or in vivo models.
