Internship Finance
Are you an ambitious finance orientated master or bachelor student and looking for a unique internship at one of the largest multinationals in the world?

Bayer's Benelux Group Finance (GFI) department is now looking for interns As an intern you will work closely with professionals of the Group Finance department.

You will gain knowledge on how such finance department is managed by the leadership team and how finance is connecting to our three divisions Crop Science, Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Health.

Bayer Group Finance Benelux offers 2 student internships yearly: one coordinated from Belgium, and one coordinated from The Netherlands.

Although students will be working in one of the country sites (Diegem or Antwerpen in BE, Hoofddorp or Maastricht in NL), the scope of activities covers Benelux as a whole.

Your job content will be customized based on your interests and BNL GFI needs.

Your responsibilities will be composed from one of the following finance domains or a combination of several of these domains.

Tax

The Benelux tax experts ensure to manage Bayer's tax affairs in a responsible manner by way of complying with all relevant tax regulations as well as filing, documentation, disclosures and approval requirements.

With this Tax safeguards Bayer's license to operate and financial value that comes with it.

As an intern, you might support Tax by performing tasks like:

Assist in ongoing M&A projects and other day-to-day topics from a tax perspective
Support in analyzing the impact of new tax legislation
Draft analyses on tax topics related to CIT, WHT and/or VAT
Review of the use of tax incentives
Getting familiar with and assist in quarterly and/or annual tax accounting activities
Support in CIT and/or VAT compliance topics
Getting basic grip on TP local files and assist in preparing these documents
Contribute to tax technology projects focused on automation

Accounting
Accounting ensures compliance with financial regulatory requirements. The core responsibility is to ensure timely and accurate annual financial statements and financial reports.

Additionally, accounting contributes to safeguarding Bayer's license to operate in other processes like M&A deals, managing of assets and timely payment of our suppliers.

As internal consultant accounting aims to advice on relevant topics to create financial value.

As an intern, you might support Accounting by performing tasks like:

Support in the audit process and preparation of financials statements and other statuary reporting (statistics)
Support the monthly, quarterly, and yearend closing and reporting process
Support in merger & acquisition projects

Treasury
Treasury manages legal entity liquidity, hedges foreign currency transactions, monitors and manages the banking infrastructure for Bayer's business operations.

Also, Treasury contributes to the optimization of Bayer's capital structure by being involved in external financing activities and by providing equity to group companies.

As an intern, you might support Treasury by performing tasks like:

Assist in day-to-day topics such as liquidity forecast and preparation of intercompany loans
Support of the financial result forecast
Draft analyses on treasury topics
Support in changing banking authorizations

LEFiM (Legal Entity Finance Management)

LEFiM focuses on the generation of unconsolidated financials to support all legal entity-based processes incorporating divisional and functional data and information.

LEFiM is closely working together with divisional finance to collect quantitative and qualitative information needed for analyzing of actuals and planning of forward-looking financials.

As an intern, you might support LEFiM by performing tasks like:

Analysis of actual data (costs, profit & loss, underlying data & value flows)
Data quality checks
Data collection and reporting
Planning preparations

Group Finance overall
Group Finance Benelux is structurally managing cross-functional projects and initiatives. Furthermore, Group Finance aims for continuous improvement of processes and working methods, including potential implementation of digital solutions.

As an intern, you might support by performing tasks like:

Project support
Process improvement
Digitalization of processes & tools

Requirements:

Master/Bachelor student in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Economics, Tax law or Tax Economics
Excellent verbal and written communication in Dutch and/or English
A real team player with an entrepreneurial mindset
Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience with data analytics, digitalization, robotics or AI is nicetohave
