What you will be doing


We are currently looking for an
Engineering Services Manager to join Umicore's Battery Material (BM) business unit in the Engineering team in Brussels, Belgium.

In this role you will lead the integration of the planning, optimization & execution efficiency of the engineering services that are provided as part of the Service Level Agreements to different clients/business units within Umicore and beyond.


You review and plan the resources for projects, define and propose team composition, request external resources when necessary, coordinate the SLA requests from the JVs and deploy the necessary resources for the SLA.

You also guarantee the update of dashboards and roadmaps, integrate S&OP quarterly plans with engineering plans.


Responsibilities:


  • Service Level Agreement Management;
  • Coordination, integration and planning of the various Engineering Service request(s) as defined & agreed per Engineering SLA; including service provided, response and maintenance activities associated with the SLA.
  • Ensuring compliance with SLA and for additional services provided that are at additional cost
  • Communicate and document changes via the change management & notification processes.
  • Service design changes are handled as projects, and are outside the scope of the SLAs.
  • Funding for major upgrades/updates to be negotiated on a servicebyservice basis.
  • Provide administrative and system support, investigate and remedy unplanned outages.
  • Meet response times associated with service requests and incidents.
  • Review the SLAs monthly and notify the customer of updates or changes.
  • Ensure Incident Management is incorporated and escalated/managed as per SLA.
  • Resource Planning & Budgeting
  • Optimize the allocation of resources, including finances, personnel, and materials, to support longterm plans effectively. This might involve budgeting, workforce planning, and procurement strategies

Additionally:

  • Performance Measurement and Analysis: Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking progress against these metrics. Analyse data to assess the success of longterm strategies and make adjustments as necessary according to SLA.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them is. This involves scenario planning, risk assessment, and ensuring the organization is prepared for unexpected challenges.
  • Communication and Reporting: to various internal and external stakeholders, executive team and relevant departments including regular progress reports to the Advanced Planning Sr. Director

Who we are looking for
years experience as project manager or PMO, ideally with few years' experience in Automotive (APQP) or Material/Mining Industry or similar

  • University degree, or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, preferably Masters in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical & Instrumentation/Automation
  • Technical experience and/or background in the execution of engineering projects & relevant experience and understanding in the execution of industrial projects in operational environments
  • Knowledge of EHS standards, industry good practices and legal requirements
  • Knowledge of industrial project trades and the interactions between all trades (project management, construction management, civil/building/facilities, electrical, piping, process, equipment and startup activities).
  • Proficiency with project scheduling software (e.g. Primavera P6 or MS Project (0365 or Office 2019) or Planisware Version 7)
  • Strong working knowledge of the MS Office package
  • Proficiency in the use of Portfolio Management tools (Primavera P6, Planisware)
  • Project or Portfolio Management certification (PMI or Prince2) is a plus
  • Excellent English (both written and spoken)
  • Ability to lead and coach teams, guide projects & inspire others by building a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization, reporting to multiple supervisors
  • Strong problemsolving skills to analyze issues, think critically, and develop effective solutions
