Global Cocoa OSCO Process Continuous Improvement Lead

About the Role

  • The GC Process CI Lead is responsible for designing and identifying opportunities and developing plans to reach maximum process capability across our global cocoa footprint.
  • The position mainly focuses on existing assets within our manufacturing sites, which encompasses more than 15 locations in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
  • The position is part of the Global GC OSCO (Operations and Supply Chain) organization but will collaborate across Operations and Supply Chain teams to define process capabilities and develop criteria to improve performance of individual processes and their capability.
  • The person will work closely with Asset, Process, Engineering, QA, Planning and Continuous Improvement leads to align on business processes and projects in the support of achieving maximum process performance. With the GC Process team this person will support and coach the facilitators of all global cocoa process related SME ( Subject Matter Expert ) communities and make sure that standards and good practices are shared across the network in a structured way. The person is responsible for developing and improving relevant KPIs for process performance management across different levels of the organization in alignment with the group's targets and BC's ambition to Go4Zero ( Go for Zero on Safety Incidents, Quality or Service Issues and Sustainability Impact)
    Current state: We are in the process of transforming our cocoa factories through the global asset and process program, to meet the longterm growing demand for our products in existing and new geographies and strive towards a smart factory level that has been defined in the program.
  • Our Manufacturing Excellence digital journey is already a few years underway, and we are increasingly capable of consistently measuring performance of assets and processes across our network. Global standards have not always been in place with a tradition of local ownership of master data and certain processes and procedures. Global standards ( i.e SOPa, Process Capability) for managing our process practices along with Gemba support require continued investment and global harmonization.
    Threeyear ambition: A cultural and organization transformation has been launched with the A&Pprogram. Progress on embedding standards will be made, and our performance and productivity at the Gemba should be measuredly improved. Visibility of performance and organization capability is widely established, and we have consistent global continuous improvement practices for process capability and performance monitoring. Additionally, we have a global/regional/local set of A&P communities actively supporting our process capabilities through shared problem solving, developing and coaching others, and creating content for learning and growing capability. MES is being rolled out globally and will enable better shop floor process control and capability management, as will it enable supporting the innovation projects towards the smart factory.
    Key Responsibilities include
  • General:
  • Lead the GC Process team in the validation and support of standardization and breakthroughs thru SME communities covering 5 divisions encompassing 15 sites located in 10 countries.
  • For benchmark purposes, lead the 6 monthly capacity debottlenecking business process with the relevant SME communities
  • Support, through SME communities, as a hub for problemsolving related to process performance
  • Validate and support standardisation and diamonds (break through) thru SME communities
  • Lead CI Way of working for process purposes ( Teamboards, Process capability management, 5S, DOE, benchmark, etc ) in the GC Process Team and/or partner with Cross Functional Teams.
  • Contribute to process innovations bringing the gemba view (at pilot and roll out phase)
