Are you energized by a role that allows you to influence stakeholders and shape effective business partnerships? If so, our Director, R&D Procurement - Clinical Lab & Diagnostics role could be an excellent opportunity to explore.

You are accountable for all category strategy, sourcing, and contract management across the central labs, specialty labs, bioanalytical / immunogenicity, and companion diagnostics categories.

This will include alignment with key GSK senior leaders responsible for these services, projects and related assets; the development and implementation of category strategies; the contracting for master service / project agreements within the categories; the management of supplier relationships; and for ensuring the suppliers meet their commitments to deliver GSK's performance, quality, and financial requirements.

_responsibilities__ include some of the following _
Manage a global spend of ~£140M by creating comprehensive global sourcing, contracting, and supplier relationship management strategies.
Are accountable for developing and delivering against performance goals (e.g. savings, cash flow, management monitoring, supplier diversity).
Demonstrate indepth knowledge of the categories, their relevant industries / markets, and GSK's forwardlooking capability requirements and use this knowledge to engage with senior stakeholders to help shape, assess, and source GSK's R&D requirements.
Manage workload for all team members; both category and contracting resource allocation and prioritization.
Attract, retain, develop, and grow professional sourcing, contracting, and supplier relationship management talent. This includes developing the broad capabilities, both technical and behavioural, for all direct reports, indirect reports, and matrixed reports to drive continued improvements to team performance.
Ensure master and servicelevel agreements are strategically aligned with R&D Business goals by engaging all relevant stakeholders in the sourcing strategy and contract management activities and delivering a strategy for most efficient contracting and buychannel.
Build strategic relationships with leaders of key suppliers to ensure the value of the supplierGSK relationship is optimised; account for crossGSK requirements in supplier relationships and leverage business review meeting process to drive the relationship. For select suppliers, establish and manage SRM structure aligned with broader R&D Procurement SRM structure.
Ensure the appropriate communication strategy is in place with a global network of senior GSK business partners; understand performance requirements, identify opportunities to create value, and align sourcing strategies to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost and innovation.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

University Degree in Business, Finance or Sciences
8+ years of experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
Experience leading teams in either a direct or matrix environment.
Contract and negotiation experience.
Change management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Master's Degree Business Administration, Finance or Sciences
Ability to interact with Executive leaders to nurture collaboration across GSK
Communication and engagement skills
Influencing skills to drive strategy development and delivery
