We are looking for a Junior Buyer in Transportation to join our team at Nike's European Logistics Campus (ELC) in Laakdal, Belgium.

Procurement plays a meaningful role in supporting business growth, driving innovation & mitigating risk through internal & external partnerships and our junior buyers are the core enablers You will work closely with transportation & Logistics business leaders giving input and helping crafting the category strategies that optimize the spend and opportunities.

Knowledge and expertise in the procurement steps, RFI, RFP, and the ability to create meaningful connections between procurement goals and business objectives will bring the person across the finish line.

You'll be working as part of the Supply Chain category in the EMEA Procurement Team.

You will focus on a part of the Transportation category taking care of each procurement step, giving valuable input to the Category Strategy Manager and the Sourcing Manager who develop the strategies.

You act as an owner of your portfolio. You will take care of your own contracts.

Working closely with other buyers from the Transportation category team, you are in charge of the RFIs and RFPs. You will implement the category strategy while identifying sourcing opportunities and delivering a sustainable pipeline.

You need to be able to communicate, interact, exchange and negotiate with various internal and external partners from different levels.

You will work in a broad matrix of internal and external partners, suppliers, and clients.

In this role you are a part of a diverse and global team and cooperate closely with different teams at Nike ELC.

You will report to the Category Strategy Manager and work closely with the sourcing manager and other buyers in this team to deliver the sourcing activities.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Relevant work experience in Procurement or Commercial background with an analytical approach to the work. Knowledge of transportation is a plus
Solid understanding or experience of the procurement steps
Negotiations & communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret spend and cost data, research market trends, identify standard methodologies, and manage supporting contract development activities
