Role & Responsibilities

• Facilitate the Scrum ceremonies and help the team reach its objectives. You are the "servant-leader" of the team.
• Support and challenge the team in its continuous improvement.
• Help the team implement and fine-tune the team agreements within the Scrum framework and principles.
• Being the first point of contact with management (Service Delivery Manager) makes you a key person to support the company vision and objectives within your team.
• Support company/department processes and agreements.
• Facilitate collaboration with other teams and departments.
• Solve impediments or escalate impediments to management when pertinent.
• Support the Product Owner in backlog management and sprint planning.
• As a COBOL expert, challenge the team and provide innovative ideas to come up with the best ICT solutions to match business needs.
• Be able to work hands-on when needed. In other words, participate in the development of user stories or technical tasks planned in the sprints.

Profile

• Good communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts while maintaining a level-headed demeanor, even if interpersonal tensions arise within the group. You remain calm and results-oriented.
• You are a diplomatic and persuasive individual, capable of adapting your behavior and communication style based on your interlocutor.
• Resistance to change does not intimidate you.
• T-shaped profile (analyst-developer-tester).
• Senior-level experience in COBOL development.
• Ability to establish trust bonds with colleagues.
• You are not hesitant to voice your opinions and encourage others to do so in a constructive and respectful manner.
• A can-do attitude.
• Fluency in French or Dutch with a good understanding of the other language.

Technical skills

• You are familiar with Scrum principles, ceremonies, and artifacts.
• You have a proven track record of working in a complex ICT environment, including:
  • Complex enterprise architecture containing numerous integrations between heterogeneous systems and processes.
  • Collaboration with other dev, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Complex interdependent business processes.
• You have a proven track record of working in a complex Mainframe/COBOL environment.
• COBOL holds no secrets for you.
• Nice to have:
  • Experience with Visual COBOL.
  • A solid understanding of relational database principles and SQL.
  • Scripting skills in PL/SQL, Python, etc.
  • Familiarity with OpenUTM.
