What you will be doing?

  • You ensure the daytoday operational and people management of the commercial admin office in Brussels, Cheonan (functional reporting) and Guangzhou (functional reporting). This customer service is handling all orders for Umicore RBM products.
In this role, you are responsible for the organisation of the customer service team:
hiring, training / development, work repartition in order to ensure continuity in the service level.

  • You will increase and solidify and document the process knowhow and competence within the RBM network, and interface with finance and transfer pricing teams.
  • You organize globally the business administration (sales/purchase admin and commercial) to optimise productivity and performance, responsiveness to the customers and integrate new activities and product flows. Together with the respective business teams, you will work out new flows and ensure implementation towards the different teams.
  • In the future: you will interface with Battery Recycling to ensure a proper handover of metal layers and smooth flow integration.
  • You keep an overview on the processes and ensures correct handling of Transfer Price, Credit Mgt. and Tax issues (incl. consignment stocks).
  • You provide input to the SCM manager in the daytoday operations to ensure adequate stock levels and align the production planning with the forecasted sales process
  • You close followup of hedging layers, payment statuson global scale, both in production plants and in consignment stocks.

Main areas of responsibilities are:
System

  • Responsible for the overall coordination and daytoday execution of the admin. flows within the Brussels, Cheonan & Guanzhou backoffice and using this experience to roll out to other commercial services.
  • Identify and analyse business needs in the field of sales and purchase administration, organisation and logistics management. Design and maintain efficient and cost effective business process solutions, taking into account the needs of the different stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in SAP rollouts internationally, being the owner of the business part towards different services.
Process

  • Optimize admin flows between different affiliates to decrease complexity and increase transparency
  • Setup and document new flows between different plants to support change of business environment
  • Asses metal currency and forex fixations/mitigation in order to ensure solid followup in SAP system.
  • Implement process changes proactively amongst others through training and documentation.
  • Be the project owner for new customer requests like EDI order processing etc.
  • Be the interface for PowerCo backoffice training and questions hotline based on SLA agreement.
  • Contribute to sales process documentation in line with IATF16949, ensure compatibility with IATF standard
  • Concerning the setup of administrative, financial processes including Order to Cash working capital, liaise with BU management and affiliate management, Global Finance Services and Global Process Owners.
People

  • Manage the team in Brussels, Cheonan, Guangzhou office
  • Organise and guide training sessions to increase competence/knowledge level of different users/team of COP
  • Support and where required lead the creation of regional administrative hubs (purchase / sales dept. and finance) in close collaboration with the different teams, departments, affiliates and Management Team. (e.g. Canada)
Procedures

  • Support the design of adequate reporting functionalities, to create value out of data.
  • Determine service level agreements and ensure correct service levels from the commercial dept. towards the business.
  • On a casebycase basis, interact with internal and external auditors, to explain and validate the business processes.
  • Support MICR assessments for sales & purchasing.
  • Have a Master degree, with the relevant multidisciplinary experience (minimum 10 years)
  • A standing experience in the RBM sales organisation is very much preferred, to understand the business needs and acumen, as well as CSM typical systems and process flows.
  • Thorough knowledge of SAP (COP / UMP / SRM / PRD), combined with good knowledge of variety of systems & tools in supply chain management
